Ripping my entire CD collection

I'm ripping around 150 CDs to my hard drive. I'm using Windows Media Player to save and store the tunes. I'm about halfway and I could play music for 3 or 4 days nonstop and nonrepeat on what I have so far. 10 CDs a day and I'll be done in a week. Anyone else store their music on the hard drive?

i need to in case of when my cds get scratches.. its alot easier to burn another copy then to go out and have to buy a new cd.

Cheaper, too. I like being able to just pick what songs I want and burn them to a CD within a few minutes.

I'm in the process of backing up my entire DVD collection-maybe 750 dvds. Right now I'm backing up the first 3 seasons of Seinfeld, for my freinds and relatives to borrow. If you think ripping CD'S sucks, trying taking out RCE protection and condensing DVD's.

get dvd shrink and dvd decrypter... i got mine both free off the internet, dvd shrink is only a 30 day free thing, after that you gotta register.. but they work great. i have the first season of dave chappelle, boondock saints, underworld and the butterfly effect directors cut saved to my laptop... with room to spare.

I use both these programs-they are great. It still takes forever to backup DVD's though.
