Yep. We got a house with a 1 car and I always said I'd just add on or even add another at the back of the property since we had room and it was allowed. Was there 5 years. Never happened

IF Elgin even allows one to be built. not sure how much available land comes with that house.

Luckily I have a couple mentors who can guide the way. And a money partner of sorts. But yea. Its definitely something I need to be committed too.

Aint nothing wrong with renting. I'm happily renting my place until I either decide to buy it or get an actual house. Too much shit going on in my life right now to commit to a mortgage. And I'm perfectly ok with that.

I've always talked about having buildings. Great way to make money. Yes they're a pain, but in the end it could be great.

My thoughts are to do it now since I am not tied down to one area and am single with no kids. Get the ball rolling early

Are you handy enough to do all the work yourself or will you be dependent on the Uncle for most stuff?

How long until he's tired of fixing stuff for your tenants...

I do a ton of work at my parents house and am close to telling them to pound sand. If it were my uncle I wouldve been done years ago.

Same thing I planned on.... Now the detached 2.5 car garage is a shed and the single attached garage is still there.
