Anyone know someone with a shop/garage in the Springfield area?

I have a blown tire and no lugnut lock key to change the spare. Roadside assistance has been here and they don't have a universal lugnut removal tool, so now I'm waiting for a tow truck. What I'd like to do is find someone I might be able to contact that can confirm they have the tool so I don't have to tow it twice if I don't guess the right shop. Anyone know someone who owns or works at a garage in this area? Thanks!

Honestly, I'm not sure. I read it's possible online, but I don't have those tools right now either.

Yes I had to pound a 3/4 socket on my mcgard locks on every wheel when I lost the key and didn't want to wait and didn't have the key card. I was able to ratchet them off.Good luck..

Yeah, if pu can get someone with a 12pt 19mm or 3/4 socket and hammer it on there that should do it for you.

Discount tire usually asks you if you want them to force it off, i also think they force a socket on it. Surprised the roadside assistance guy couldn't help with something like that.

wilkerson's is a pretty decent shop on the south side of town. Pomp's tire is more on the north east side and are good people. If I was in town I would come take care of it for you no problem, but unfortunately I am in Cali.

I was thinking along the lines of buying something cheap from Walmart or something like that. Seems like you are never far from one. It only has to work once.

And that is why I hate wheel locks and will never use them. They are more of a PITA than anything and anyone that really wants your wheels will know how to get them off.

Thank you so much for that offer! I ended up towing it to a Neal's Tire Shop, who says they can do it today (thank God, it was a total gamble) for only $10, which is a shock but I'm not complaining. After paying for roadside, a tow truck and a hotel room, $10 is right up my alley. But thank you again for the offer, that's really cool of you.

Yep, just made it back to my area. The tire shop was also kind enough to replace the locking lugnuts on my other few tires with regular ones so this doesn't happen again. I'm not sure if that's the best option in general but I went with it.

I'd say so. I took off the ones on my Regal, and will be doing removing the ones on my Impala whenever I get around to it. I feel like they're a bigger PITA then they are worth.
