3800 Reflectix....safe?

I need a way to insulate a metal tube for my intake. I've gotten suggestions to use reflectix. If your not familar with it, it's kind of like bubble wrap with a thick foil around it. I was gonna wrap a few layers of that around it to keep the tube from getting hot and heat soaked.

It says on the package that it withstands heat up to 160 degrees. I know you need some serious heat to melt foil, but I'm just wondering if the air pockets in between the foil is heat safe. This stuff is supposed to be used in insulating roofs in houses and as a sun reflector in RV's.

Let me know what you all have used to protect against heat soak and if this reflectix stuff is gonna be ok to use under the hood. The last thing I need is for my car to go ablaze.

P.S. Thanks Mike for the tube, it worked out pretty well. I have it working for now, but it still needs a better way to connect to the TB. I never remembered your screen name BTW
