Ok so im gettin serious about things again here and I'm gonna get those files from my email and v6buicks v6buicks post but what to I need to know about this thing is there a write up anywhere I can check out or do I just need to load it up and get a feel for it? I've been told a few times you can't correctly tune a 3800 without dhp. Also I'm not scared of old software I grew up with internet that made noise on the phone shit should run fast as hell now

I can't say I really "get it" yet either. It's not going to be as easy as plugging it in and automatically downloading drivers though. That's for sure. I had to install winzip and use that to save all the linked files to my computer. It takes a while and it's kind of a pain. The link will take you another old forum post which has all the powrtuner stuff available to download. I'm not convinced that it has everything I needed, but I haven't tried hooking up to my car yet either.

I dig ancient secrets lol. I'd wait days for songs on limewire, hours for a single pic of porn sometimes. That was hell on a high school kid does this link have any sort of write up for stuff like those pins?

It did not. Sadly, this DHP stuff seems to be all tribal knowledge. There are no good troubleshooting or installation guides that I can find.

There was a tuning guide crap I can't remember the name but it was usually in with the power tuner files.

Jerry's tuning notebook. Maybe Google that it might give you more leads

I might have some nifty tuning stuff for that backed up somewhere.
There's some stuff in my email and a file or two over on another post but I'll take whatever I can get

Ok so back to this thing and I'm sure it's been asked a million times but can a guy in some way use stock manifolds of fwd manifolds backwards to fab up another kit with the old t70 for my bird? After a week of work bein dead from -20 wind chills and snow that doesn't seem to end I finally got thru the pile in my office and while I'm debating throwin injectors in my truck over the weekend I may back off of that and bring this back in the shop and try and get some parts off the shelves.

Kinda thinkin bout just havin two cars since I'm really only manifolds and injectors away. Kinda thinkin bout usin my scissor lift and boom truck to body swap drive trains altogether. Kinda really just want those gears and tranny and computer that doesn't pull its shit in my red car. I've gotta alot of love for that bird too and they're spose to be workin on the title but in the end I did buy it to feed the beast. Doesnt mean it wouldn't be awesome to put the old shit back in the bird with some kinda couple spacers or whatever needed done to clear some baby mud tires tho. And then boost it...anyways v6buicks v6buicks has my wheels turnin again so time to get back in it.

Sadly I may just try and work on gettin the rest of the interior swapped and my dash put back together and vacuum lines and such. It's a mess and that's where it needs to start before we start makin progress again I spose

Also I'm really startin to think I'm gonna have to dig up an lt4 file for injector data for my truck. Gen5 stuff seems like it's nonexistent but I know it's been done. I wish there was somethin like the e92 we could put in our cars. What about somethin from a newer 4.3 and go to single coil pack? So many questions and a whole ass new way of tuning sittin right in front of me. And on that note I'm bout to put the kids to bed and start playin with that

Iirc, people use v6 3.8 mustang manifolds flipped forwards on these.
Well thats convenient let me know when you wanna come off those 80s and I'm set I'll get a y pipe and a t4 flange off ebay too and throw the lesser stuff on it fender exit that bitch leave it on the gate and make it a riot machine I can't wait to park that out in front of the school and see the looks I get for that one

GTPpower GTPpower that link you put up for the dhp stuff seems like the holy grail of everything a guy would ever need. I think maybe I got a start but I'm gonna have to hit a whole new rabbit hole on those Readme files thank you!

You should read the beginning of my thread. My car has stock 3800 manifolds. Then I just connected the dots. Lol

I chopped up the y-pipe and welded new pieces that redirected the driver side gases forward.

There it is peeking between the mount and the k-member

After chopping the curved part off the FWD manifold and adding a couple more pieces of pipe, I had this. If I recall correctly, I don't think you can install the uncut FWD manifold in place without hitting the water manifold, but even the mustang manifolds require some massaging. Just an idea!

I need to look at the bird again or scroll back thru my gallery later but i can't remember if it had the same manifolds my 98 does. For some reason I kinda remember them lookin more headerish like the mustang ones but I kinda remember cussing bout the shields on em too. I'll pry circle back to that one but id imagine between two cars and y pipes and the ol harbor freight metal melter machine I can come up with somethin. Unzippin all that stuff last night has me like a Jr high kid wantin to get work out of my way so I can pull it in the shop tonight and start fixin it so I can play. Finally picked up some primer for my valve covers and turbo so I can get em painted and have her lookin good when she goes back together. Stay tuned for scary noises comin from mine too
