For some months I have been chasing what felt like slack in the drive train and a certain Ka-thunk sound. Others have not been able to identify the problem but today I took the car to the brake shop for a look see, suspecting a bad rear brake(s).

The Technician spotted the problem right away the upper control arm bushings were completely ate away. Metal on Metal contact.

I say this in order to enlighten others who may experience this problem but not able to pin it down.

The new control arms from Sparta Performance are on the way.

Regards,

Pat

Thats odd. Never ever ever ever seen or heard of that happening regardless of the mileage.

Here ya go. Bushings destroyed, everything just falls out. These are the upper's, the lowers were just a bit worn and dried out.

Never seen that before....ever.
Its as if something is tweaked and its exerting pressure on the bushings.

Pat, have you ever slid into a curb or other similar 'event'?

Zack: no "events" were experienced by me. I'm the only driver except Patricia.

I do get a high pitched "click" almost constantly when driving parking lot slow with windows open from rear. I will recheck control arm bushings.
