Was actually closer to 25 miles. Maybe a tad more. Paused my watch right before I left and rode a while before I realized it. Then did it again when I stopped and chatted with someone. Oops.

Wasnā€™t trying to set any records today, just a nice ride. I really need to get the pedals with clips and the shoes. I could be so much more efficient. Canā€™t find them in wide sizes though.

Went for a ride this evening... St. Charles to Sycamore along the Great Western Trail, which I think someone else here has done. I need to go back and scroll the pages for a screen cap of the path.

Anyways, just over 35 miles, which I think is my best ever. I timed it poorly, the last 45-60 minutes I had to use my small 400 lumen flashlight to see where I was going, lol.

I have been there before in the dark :ROFLMAO:. I have since added a bunch of lights to my bike. Since I also like to get up before sunrise now and ride.

I try to not ride at night since I really donā€™t have the appropriate lighting. I do carry this with me in my handlebar bag just in case. Came in handy tonight. Should probably bring my bigger one instead, the LC90 for better illumination.

Yo.

Enjoying the shit out of having a gym at home again. Iā€™ve been doing full body every other day for the time being, gaining strength and mobility back pretty quickly.

finally scored a set of poweblock USA elites. Adjustable from 5-90lbs in 2.5lbs increments. Id prefer a traditional set of dumbells from 10-120lbs, but home gym and not spending a couple thousand on that. Maybe some day.

got my BIL to start working out now too. Guy is completely untrained, did our first workout yesterday. Kept it simple and light. Circuit of kettle bell swings, some ring rows and bench.

Took last week off as my thumb was fucked from fighting them young kids. Still a little fucked up but managed to get to the gym yesterday.
Chest, mostly machines as it was easier on my thumb. But did hit flat bench, set of 20 at 225lbs then 2 sets of 15 at same weight.

Saw and talked to some 21yr old kid in there yesterday. He was built like a brick shithouse, benching 335lbs and weighs 185lbs. Only been lifting 5yrs and now does some kind of competitions. Prior to 275lbs I saw him sniff something and again at 295, 305, 315 and 335. Asked what it was and he said smelling salt. Helps him with big weight lifts

So at the gym today, chest day. Did all flat bench work. Only went up to 275lbs but managed 3 sets of 10. Worked out for about a hour. So as im leaving I stop to sanitize my hands after washing them lol. Notice some older white guy like wanting to approach me or say something. So I broke the ice and said, howā€™s it going. He comes up to me and gotta be upper 50ā€™s so not sure where he heard this before. But looks me dead in the face and says ā€œno homoā€ ??. Then proceeds to tell me Iā€™m a strong MFer, and he means that. I was lol because he said no homo. But I was like thanks man, but some days are better than others at the gym. He said he couldnā€™t believe I hit 3 sets of 10 at 275lbs. I said a lot of guys here can do that. He said yeah a lot younger guys. He asked how old i was, told him 44. He then said holy fuck thats even more impressive, he figured I was 35-37yrs old lol.

Not sure if he was hitting on me. Doesnā€™t come off as a gay guy and Iā€™ve seen him there before. He knows a ton of people in the gym. The no homo had me literally lol.

I haven't worked out in any way shape or form since 8/24. Blew out something in my lower back on 8/22, can't even pick up an empty. Shit, I can barely put on a sock right now.

Seeing chiro this afternoon, hopefully he can sort me out.
I was exactly the same, (barely putting on socks). That has gone away for the most part. I usually get that shit once a year, it runs its course and disappears. Its the weirdest shit.

What frustrates me is that I worked outside around the house all day Saturday (8/22), nothing strenuous. Then I had gotten cleaned up for some friends to come over. I was standing upright, lifting my left knee towards my chest to put on a sock and pop, there it went. Actually, it was more of a slight twinge. Monday I did an epic 35 mile bicycle ride thinking the rotation movement would free it up, since it feels to be just above the left hip, under the kidney. That was a shit idea, lol.

By Tuesday night (8/25) I was having to use my cane* just to hobble around the house.

*needed a cane after I destroyed my knee following a bike crash. The cane came after the progression of wheelchair (two months), a walker (two months), then 2-3 months learning to walk again. Glad I kept it, it has come in handy on these occasions.

Been back at the gym for about a week now feels good hitting chest today, lost a good bit of strength basically taking the whole year off since March
Took me a good 5-6 weeks to get all my numbers back to where they were. Granted the first 2 weeks I went light, 1st week all machine work and 2nd week all free weights but light.

Well gents, from the doctors mouth to my ears out my ass to this forum... I blew out the left SI (Sacroiliac) joint. Said no matter what I did at home to try to remedy it, it wouldn't have mattered. Needed to be physically put back in place. He was surprised on two things. One, that I made it almost 10 days in this condition. Two, he was flabbergasted I made a 35 mile bicycle ride with the SI joint the way it was. Told him the joint didn't really bother me at all, but my shoulder almost had me to the point of tears.

He got the SI re-situated, but I might need to go back in a week for another adjustment if the pain and discomfort hasn't gone away by then. Said to figure at least 5-7 days for it to be "normal" after being so bad for 9-10 days.

Hopefully it'll be manageable by the weekend so I can do shit. I can already tell it's better since I was able to actually use the stairs when I left and was able to get in and out of my car easily. Getting out of my car when I got there took a solid 30 seconds. So I call that an improvement. (y)
