Mine has ticked loud from day one. Its has not hurt anything nor will it. I have modded my car and everything and she runs fine! I really am not worried about it!

Do all 03's potentially have this problem, or is it just after a certain build date?
all 03-04 cobras can have this..it was never addressed until the january 05' heads were released along with a few other things:biggthump

there have been numerous 04s to have the head tick:confused:

Before you get the tick, LDC cooling mod.... if they still make them.

Otherwise the issue is a slight design flaw in the head on the drivers side, also there's no sufficient cooling path .. hence the LDC cooling mod for coolant flow.

My tick became more noticeable when I put on the bassani midlength headers. It wasn't super loud or anything, but it did annoying the hell out of me. Running 10W30 oil helped quiet things up a little. If I dared use 5W20 it was pretty extra noisy. Maybe it's all in my head.

I sold car car anyway, all the little things were driving me nuts.... but I do miss it. The power....

Just curious, has anyone gotten "the tick" with the January '05 heads?

Call Sutton, ask Randy what he can do. I got the tick at 27M and it sucks.
