Will the c8 z06 Hold Value (relative to MSRP, forget markups)

  • No way, it's a $120k+ chevy and they make 7000 per year

  • Yes, it's absurdly fast and future price increases will likely keep used cars close to MSRP

Ohhhh didn't notice that the first one was being sold by a dealer. Interesting.
yeah i mean in IL going from a dealer selling it to private party is big tax difference- likely some other states as well.

I still can't believe that IL hasn't changed this to a straight sales tax charge.

when I used to follow the markups pretty closely the justifications on the corvetteforum were so damn funny

"future price increases will keep prices up"
"production is limited (rofl) and everyone wants it so prices will stay above msrp"

etcetc

gt500 has far better chance of appreciating than any c8

Corvette forum is a joke. I had guys telling me my car would go for 95-100k on bat.

CF is good for buying and selling. You can find good deals if you're patient. Both cars and parts. I got a set of like new Corsa Sports for $850 last week.

Build numbers are everything with value, do they have a build numbers for the c8 z06 to share?
IIRC they built like 7k in the first year, and 50k+ vettes in total. So yeah, they're building a shit ton.

I'm all for it though, if you can make something as cool as the c8 z06 relatively affordable (and much more affordable than the competition) by producing at scale, that's great. Buyers just have to accept that it'll depreciate, which is fine.
