3.944 330'

7.198 1000'
8.439 1/4
181.15 mph

the event stats

actual event posting with rules and payouts
http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2802133

not to mention Tony Palo from T1 is @ 8.6X and 17X MPH and 2 other racers have dipped into the 8's

if they post some vids i will put some links up....damn me for not going this year!

and yes, he broke the "8.5sec" and the "180MPH" certification rules so he has been "warned" - he will be DQ'd if he does it again....

nah 6's are over 200mph, and i do think thats impressive btw. But we both know neither are anywhere close to a street car.

closer then you think...rules state has to have working lights, full glass, full interior from front seats forward, pass seat has to match drivers seat, no wheelie bars...ive seen the cars in person...honestly i think most of them would make it to McD's and back with no problems...

Rules state what a street car is, but what about what all of us consider a street car? I mean, if he picked up a new girl he just met in that car, would she really think wow, this is a nice car? Or would she think, wow, this is loud and annoying? It's kind of a pet peeve of mine (and apparently Jared) what people consider a street car. It's silly to think that car is a street car, rules or not, it's not a street car. However, what it ran is DAMN effing impressive, 180mph, holy balls. Supra whoopin' power right there. Probably an ET to match :dunno: Actually that's about as close to a street car as the "toyota celica" post someone made a bit back. It was a body, not a car, over a frame with a Supra motor, nothing about that car made it a Celica, but for some reason (probably stupid rules...) it was considered a Celica. hm....

If i can get past how annoying the all motor class is, I would give them so much more respect trapping 131 (i can care less about ET's, i'm a roll racer) than a turbo car trapping 181, street car or not. Turbo's can make up for more than Viagra, n/a cars actually require 10X more thought.

Thing is, when i fill my car up with the gas i take it to the track with, I get it from a regular gas station, when i go to the track I put on just slicks. When i leave the track I can swing by my place, pick up the g/f, and head out somewhere. I also drive my car every single day until the first salt on the road. It's been through 2 winters and I really don't want to put it through another. The thing i'm trying to say is, people use the whole street car thing way too loosely. It's not a street car, it's legal, but c'mon, it's not a damn street car.

totaly streetable - my wife wouldnt mind a ride in one of these bad boys

If every girl thought like your cool wife, then the whole "Streetable" thing would be rethought. The only reasons there are rules is because of women. Otherwise any self respecting man would be honored to go for a ride in an 8sec car. Loud? who cares, rough ride? Yeah, don't give a shit. No seats? (in my example) not a problem, i'll find something to sit on
