I think thatā€™s a comment for your average, non-athletic, in shape people.

For moderate-intensity physical activity, your target heart rate should be between 64% and 76%1,2 of your maximum heart rate. You can estimate your maximum heart rate based on your age. To estimate your maximum age-related heart rate, subtract your age from 220. For example, for a 50-year-old person, the estimated maximum age-related heart rate would be calculated as 220 ā€“ 50 years = 170 beats per minute (bpm).

Years ago after my dad had a heart attack, I was stressed out over that of course.

But I became hyper aware of my own heart beat. I noticed it all the time, and the stress caused my rhr to skyrocket. Easily averaging 110-120bpm. But wasnā€™t due to poor health. It was the stress of thinking about my dads heart attack and then thinking what about my health.

Just measuring my heart beat along was enough to stress and send it 120+ while laying in bed.

So I went and had the full cardiac exam. They found nothing.

It was all literally in my head.

My rhr sitting on the couch is 61bpm. But if I get up to go to the kitchen Iā€™m sure it would jump to 70-80.

When I sleep Iā€™m sure it hits sub-50.

Did not read thread. Came in here because siting at my desk at work and my watch tells me ā€œlow heart rateā€. I get these notifications every night now. Never did before I lost weight (lost 85 pounds in the last 5 months).

207bpm? God damn.

In my daily workouts I target 145bpm+ for 30m on the exercise bike, then I cool down with a 6.5 mile walk, which I usually complete in about 90 minutes.

I can only do the exercise bike for 30m, after which my balls are numb, I need a new exercise bike, preferably a recumbent. I could easily pedal for another 15-30 minutes on a recumbent.

Go ahead. I'll catch up.

I just had my 6 month endocrinologist visit yesterday. While having an animated conversation with the nurse, laughing, etc., my heart rate was 77. I can "live" with that. BP was 114/74. Losing the weight completely changed all those numbers for the better. I'm no longer on a BP pill.
