Yesterday, Kevin's Coconut Curry Chicken with Japanese rice. I like Japanese pickled ginger too so I always add that.

Kevin's has a line of sous-vide'd meats + sauce kits, they are about $10 for one package and I use 2 for the four of us, and we are all big eaters. These things take hardly any time to prepare.

Whats the difference between white rice and Japanese rice? Your pic makes it look the same. Whats the red stuff?

Shawn1112 Shawn1112 I been planning to try a PR restaurant, one place mentioned is Ponce on Fullerton. Ever been there or would you suggest somewhere else? I've liked PR food when I've had it, have an ex gf who was PR.
Thought I posted this before, maybe not 🤷🏼‍♂️

We go to different spots as each place has something different that one makes better than others. But if your just going for a Jibarito and rice then Ponce or Jibaritos Y Mas both on Fullerton are really good. Try some different appetizers at either place as they are cheap. My favorites are pastelios (empanada) and accapurria which is an acquired taste. You will either love or hate the accapurria. Papa Rellanos are decent, fried potato ball stuffed with ground beef. Can’t go wrong with tostones or maduros.

If you step it up to dinner dishes check back with me and I’ll tell you what I like at what place.

Don’t sleep on Mimas on Irving and Richmond which is very close to you. Little Cuban spot that also has Jibaritos but no Rican rice. They have white rice with black beans as that’s what Cubans have. Their Cuban sandwich and El Gordo (steak sandwich with fried egg) are also both very good. If u get tostones there, they serve it with a very good garlic dipping sauce

Tonight I made Asian stir fry again lol, but with hanger steak from Joseph's meats which is prime and it was really good, way better than Marianos. If you've never had this cut, it's very tender and this prime from the butcher was fork tender.

I made yakisoba noodles. Sauce is from a HungryRoot, spicy pepper sauce.

My son called earlier said he is going to butcher if I would grill. Say less my boy.
He got pre-marinated arracherra, it’s that expensive shit so kinda hard to say anything bad. But we all said we prefer my Wife’s marinade but that has to sit overnight. He also got mini burgers and provolone/gardinera Italian sausage. I wasn’t a huge fan of the sausage. The wife has chicken marinated in some garlic concaction she made. She made the beans from scratch, they have like 10-different ingredients in them. My son’s GF made the salsa verde homemade.
