despite being in thailand. i've been putting down a lot of evening burgers lately. by a lot i mean 4+ weekly.
mostly from kinburger

the first burger is actually from a pretty fancy restaurant, one of the best on the island, but to make the $ work during covid he simply opened up a very short menu quick burger fast food shop. the burgers are fantastic and he has been killing it.
the 2nd burger is from a place where the guy makes big and more creative ones, takes a long time though and i get them for a change of burger pace, the first is still my fave. must be prepared for a mess from the second as well.
plenty of places have closed their doors on my small low trafficked island - so to stay open you need to provide quite good tasting/value thai food, or have good stuff for foreigners to cater to those that are here and still willing to spend (and have) some more money.
I'm doing a Caesar salad with no croutons and sautéed shrimp.

Love having supreme lobster right down North Ave. My girls bday, so went with 3.5lbs of King crab and 1lb of jumbo sea scallops.
Had black truffle compound butter with the crab legs and garlic, parmesan/basil compound butter for the scallops.
Also tried this infused EVOO. pretty damn good.

My work shares Supremes rear property line and its WAAAAAYYYYYY too easy to lose a big chunk of my paycheck there. Got to the point where I’d walk in and I felt like Norm from Cheers between me going there so often for myself and for my neighbors. One time I took a pic of my hat next to a giant lobster tail and sent it to my wife, she of course zoomed in on the $120 price tag and responded with “Don’t you DARE!! Just get scallops!”
Supreme is great until their cooling system fails in the middle of summer and our building and lot reek like dead fish. The stench seemed to leech into our personal cars and stunk them up too.
As a kid, my father would take my brother, sister and I to Mickeys on 111th & Oak Park ave in Worth (family owned / 3 generations). Growing up, going on dates, married (wife / I) and now with my kids, we go to Mickey’s from time to time. Fan of that grease pit.
