Yeah. When I drink a $100+ bottle of extra anejo or anejo, even some reposados and blancos I see the difference in complexity, taste and quality. Problem is I'm not going to spend money like that on a product that is gone in a week or two. I'm exploring the bargain tequilas that are made using old world methods with no additives and will drink the ones that are best. Espanita, El Padrino, etc.

Hornitos is ranked at tequilamatchmaker.com in the 60s and 70s depending on version. I try to buy tequilas that are ranked 80s or better for sipping. You can get away with mixing the lesser tequilas but sipping tequilas need to be 80+. 90+ is ideal for sipping but they are usually priced much higher.

Give this a whirl- I’m not a tequila fan and I’ll drink this. Not exactly cheap but not outrageous either.

86 from the panel and 80 from the community for the Herencia anejo. That's definitely sippable level.

If you guys see El Tesoro sold by you the brand is ranked mid 80s and 90s for the blanco/repo/anejo and extra anejo respectively. It's actually a bargain for it's prices. Around $45 for the blanco, $80 for the anejo and $130 for the extra anejo. The brand is relatively easy to find. It's my go to "good" tequila.

Definitely a sipper. I’ll have to keep an eye out for the El Tesoro.
