So a couple weeks ago a friend reached out about a job opening with a former coworker of hers that she thought I might be interested in. I like my job now, but this was for more $ and a step up, so I spent some time updating my resume. I applied and interviewed and I'm still waiting to hear back from them, but since my resume is updated, I figure might as well see what else is out there. I found a remote job for Motor Trend that I thought I was qualified for, so I applied yesterday. Now, I'm on the Motor Trend mailing list. I don't remember checking a box to add me to a mailing list, but I'm on it now, at least until I hear about that job.

I'm almost $6200 for a 1200sq ft duplex that backs up to County Farm Rd. It's fucking ridiculous. I should be getting a discount for dealing with the pollution (air and noise) 24/7. 75% of the bill is just for school districts 87 & 93, neither of which I use since I have no kids. Pisses me off even more that the previous year the schools were closed, yet no discount given.

Naperville had a surplus and refunded $10,000,000 back to the residents due to the schools being closed. If Naperville can do it, so can other towns.

Fucking hate it here. I plan to be out in the next 18-24 months. Might go get some acreage down by my dad in KY.

Still waiting to hear on that job from a few weeks ago, in the meantime, I'm looking to see what else is out there and I've found a few jobs I wanted to apply for. Hit the apply button and you have to register on these company sites just to apply? There were a few that I was like , nope. Guess I'm not applying. I even went to a few LinkedIn pages, found the jobs and hit apply and it takes me back to the site to register. FUCK

I think I may go the same route and look for a new job. Kind of hard since I've primarily been doing construction for so long and want to do something else now.

Work did an update overnight. All my taskbar shortcuts are gone. Plus, TCG is now blocked.

The saga of the back injury continues! Found out the issue with my back is a herniated disc combined with osteoarthritis and degenerating/drying discs in my lower back (L4-L5) and mild herniation in my middle back.
Disability center denied my physical therapy sessions because I’m getting pain management injections next week……..orthopedic surgeon, pain management specialist and my physical therapist have all said PT is 100% necessary to help get me back to work with a herniated disc in my back and injections are not just necessary but will most likely be needed on a regular basis. PT said I’m at 48% disability for a NORMAL job not one that requires lifting 100’s of lbs while off balance. All on the medical side have said I can’t return to my normal job yet and I need to be re-evaluated in 6 weeks……..disability center wants me 100% back to work. I could practically see my attorneys eye roll over the phone and they told me to just relax and they’re taking care of it all because it’s totally ridiculous and would open up the company and disability center to an enormous lawsuit because I would do permanent irreparable damage to my back.

It's a conspiracy. Attorneys and disability working together to keep charging money to pad their bank accounts.

Okay, probably not. Both side are insufferable. I'm dreading the day my L3-S1 needs injections and PT. It's bad now, been bad since December. I just can't afford to get the medical treatment thanks to my crappy health insurance. Can't even go back to the chiro (bad joke) to have them try to get those joints back into a position where they're not stiff and sore all day. All $$$ I don't have.

I WFH Mon-Thurs, Friday is my day in the office. Wife usually WFH Friday but today she had to go in. Kids bus picks up at 8, she was gonna leave as soon as they get on the bus. Phone calls started at 7:39AM.

We have stray cats in our neighborhood, at least 3 that we see regularly. We have neighbors 2 houses over with one of those playsets in their back yard and I've seen the cats stay in there many nights when I let the dog out in the backyard (no fences). I've seen them in our yard all the time, I've had to knock on windows to get them to scat.

The wife calls, the dog start rolling around in the tall grass this AM when she took her out. Dog got up and was covered in shit, presumably from the stay cats that hang out near us.

So we had to frantically get a day grooming appointment at the vet, less than 1 week after we got her groomed.

Now I get to leave work early to grab her from the vet today.

It's fucking always something, with the wife, the kids or the dog. I get why dads live alone in Florida.

Why don't you bathe the dog yourself?

And leave some coolant out in a bowl. Stray cats no more!

last bulldog we had, in our old house, I gave him baths all the time in our shower. We had one of those showerheads that comes off with a long hose thing. He always stood there and let me do it, no problems. I even had him trained to not shake until I told him it was ok. Old house had a generic plastic showers. It was easy to give him a bath. Bathroom was small, I could control him and not get soaked.

This house, we have a glass shower and a stand alone tub. I have done baths and showers for her in both. She is not good to give a bath. I basially have to get into swim trunks and take a shower with the dog. It was awful to do, I tried a few times. We gave up and pay the $40-50 to get her groomed now.

Our bathroom:

I even tried to give her a bath in the basement bathroom before, still had to get into my trunks and it was a mess.
