After 4 months of having a vacant role in our finance department, the new guy was slated to start today. He e-mails the hiring manager this morning and tells her he's not taking the job after all.

Ha, what an asshole!! I could see if you were juggling a few offers, you'd tell them you needed a few days to mull it over. He must have gotten a better offer and decided to cancel the last minute. I guess I just wouldn't accept an offer unless I committed to the position. I guess I could see how possibly the last offer he was waiting on came through.

And this guy was their second choice, the first guy declined the offer.
