Working on my resume and truck.

I can't help but recall how much more I got to enjoy my toys when I was just a Greasemonkey.

Maybe I should just ditch corporate mekanik and go back.
I mean idk man it's not real hard to find shit to work on in the garage when you know how to build shit other people can't.

Gm really made a money printer for repair shops with their 1.4t. Doing oil filter housing/cooler gaskets along with a water pump on a 2014 encore and of course the turbo housing is cracked.

Garrett 1446 if I'm not mistaken. That Exhaust housing crack shouldn't cause too big of an issue unless it's got an under boost code or the thrust bearings on the turbo shit and it's fogging it with oil. It'll just spool a little slower according to my adventures in the Cruze world

Anyone make an improved housing? I'm popping my cat off eventually, I'd love more boost response if mine's cracked but I don't remember it being great even from the factory.

Gotta tell the customer and let them decide. It wasn’t throwing underboost yet but with 120k miles it’s only a matter of time

No clue honestly. We use whatever GM remanned unit. These don’t ever last long enough to go through a second turbo

Don't say that shit. Mine's at 177K still original turbo.

I think the catalyst code may be the flex coupler between the first and second cat being trashed.

I don't think it's that I think it's the mid pipe flex coupler. Question is do I find a muffler shop to replace the flex joint or buy a new mid pipe. The ZZP one is the same price as getting an OEM one from Rockauto.
Get the zzp one if your gonna buy the whole thing. I'd booger weld it up myself with a parts store flex section if possible but I'm a cheap bastard

The past couple days I've been spending a little bit of time making molds for a wood/epoxy project. I'm making a few serving trays made from live edge wood I bought from Rockler. Just finished making 3 (out of 4) molds and each serving tray will be a different colored epoxy.

Done like 3 radiators in the last week due to the plastic end caps cracking since it got cold.

I was gonna ask if that was all the way out. Looks like it was recently all the way out too with that sliver (1/8'th inch or so) of fresh metal.
