Meanwhile just had a jagoff argue fight and call manager to get $100 knocked off cause he stated the dealer takes the dio fee off if the customer elects to fix the vehicle.

He even pulled his phone out and showed us he knows alot of people

Oh we get those asshats too. When they walk in with an autozone printout I already know they don't want to pay diag
Last one that did that showed up with an injector and the print out. Said strickly no dio. Was being a prick. I knew exactly what the issue was. Sure as shit took off valve cover, there were rockers and pushrods laying on their side/loose...

Put that new injector in and shipped it the same exact way it came in just us being richer.

I'll refund diag if I get the work, I just get tired of people asking me what's wrong with their shit and leaving to "fix it themselves"

Got my ass handed to me yesterday and today, 2012 Acadia in with alllll sorts of issues. No cluster, trans issues, reduced power mode. Tracked all that down to water intrusion on the passenger door connector and got the display and data lines working again. Customer was happy as hell I got it lit up again and it didn't seem like it had anything serious otherwise so I got to pick on it some to get it back into shape.

I found the steering rack thrashed cuz Acadia, had a real fun time dropping the k frame and supporting the engine to fight that bastard in an out of there, some brakes, pair of tires, lof. Finally get that shit show taken care of and I go to drive it and it overheats the second I get out on the road. Awesome, so I start digging on that and find one of the heater hose connectors broke, tee crumbles tearing it apart, grab a 5/8 connector instead of a 3/4 at the parts store and I guess this fucker can sit til I go back in the morning and it can be a 3 day thing.

I'm making a lil money on it thankfully, but it definitely went sideways on me and was 10 times harder to deal with than it should've been. But it'll be nice to see it roll out of here with a clean bill of health after they were gonna take it to the junkyard because the dealership told them they couldn't figure out what it's problem was.
The 3.6 doesn't even have a hint of timing chain tick to it and runs fantastic.

doin the good work always brings the toughest battles, even if it's somethin that should've been simple.

I mostly fucked myself on it though. If I'd have known I had to drop the frame out of it I'd have moved it forward so I could get all the bolts out easy and gotten it set on some stands. But nah, I had it halfway torn apart 3 inches too far back and had to make a clusterfuck out of it with jacks and inching bolts in and out on top of rust belt probs and turned a 4 hour job into a 10 hour fight šŸ˜‚

But with the rest of the stuff on it I made my week on one car and the fleet it belongs to seems to be really appreciative, I'm not even mad about it the damn thing just kept firing at me every time I got somethin else fixed on it šŸ˜‚

Water pumps on those are gravy though. 3 hour book time and they basically fall right out.
Yeah they aren't terrible if you don't mind the tight space. I pull that top mount and the pcm tray out of it so I have room to get around so I'm sure it can be done way faster
