So, what better to do on a hot humid day but work in the garage ( door closed ) for hours and hours ? Duh !
So, I purchased 2 foam sanding blocks that have hook and loop ( velcro ) for hand sanding.
I started by hand and quickly said, F this, I'm using the Porter cable. The sanding disks are from Rupes, 1500, 2000 and 3000.
I used all machines to compound the paint. Griot's Fast correcting cream and Menzerna FG400 and Rupes blue "coarse" wool pads.
Once the compounding was complete, I polished with the PC and a 3" yellow Rupes wool pad and Menzerna 2400.
When I coat the car, the rear bumper should only need Sonax perfect finish and a yellow foam polishing pad. Or maybe a black finishing pad. Up dat gloss skis
Anyways, picture time:

Kudos to all of the body men out there. F that shit. They make it look easy on the car building programs. 400 and 800 and sealer, then paint and clear, then "cut and buff"
I'm going to stick to driving :ROFLMAO:

Takes a lot of time and dedication to sand and buff paint. But your results look amazing! (y)
Thank you !

Damn dude, looks great! I have wanted to sand off the orange peal from most my cars but never had the nerve to do it. Props to you!
Fresh paint vs attacking a whole car is where I draw the line. Thanks !

I did that to my hood 2 seasons ago. Sooo much work. I at least did it in cooler and drier weather. You probably sweat out a few gallons
I couldn't hydrate fast enough. But didn't pass out ?
I admire your patience. It's great.

I'd be like "fuck this, let's roll the way it is" ?

Thanks Jeff, there may or may not have been a "fuck this" as I was going along ?

Wanna do my entire Kona Blue Mustang. :s00ls:

That blues is worse than black I swear.

Head on looks great. Shift side to side it changes alot!

I will respectfully decline ☠
The paint thickness on new cars is thin to begin with. The orange peel does serve a purpose.
Polish and protect is the way to go.

Looks killer Gav! Awesome work dude!

Thanks Jim !

fucking next level shit
Thank you KJski
