Good morning guys!
I think I deserve to be a little lazy this morning since it was a late night in the new building.
However, I do have a question...Has anyone installed an 8900 Lift Master door operator?
We just had all of our other door openers installed with the doors but since the door is already installed, I thought I would take a run at the installation.
It doesn't look that difficult.

a door operator update guys....the LiftMaster 8900 is so easy to install, don't pay a pro to install it. Looks clean as heel when it is mounted and works great and very quit. It is also WIFI adaptable. The only thing is the guy who installed the door installed it with a hollow shaft and i don't like. Other than changing out the shaft I am going to try to come up with a slug to driver into the shaft. Much better than a trolley operator hanging from the ceiling.

I have installed a couple Genie screw drives, but never a lift master. The hardest part for me was balancing holding the head unit while mounting it to the bracketry. Then setting the prox sensors for the stops at each direction.

As to LED lighting what's the issue? Most 4' units are going to be at least equal to, if not brighter (more lumen output) than an old 4ft flourescent and will remain as bright through their lifetime, whereas flourescent fades as they age.

yea the LEDs are the way to go for sure.
the directions were very good that came with it and everything went to plan.
I was able to clamp a piece of steel to the man lift railing and I rolled it right into place and used an impact to run the screws in.

I'm watching the Duluth harbor cam, 39* there and Lake Superior is Lake Superior'ing. The Paul Tregurtha (the longest ship on the great lakes) just left and was sending water over the wall in the canal. :D

Hey guys,
It has been a while since I checked in on the garage forum.
Been doing some heavy work on the new building and thanks to some friends the project is progressing.
I needs to be completed by end of August when we are hosting a big party so the pressure is on.
The ladies are all headed to a northen Minnesota cabin for the weekend so a few of the guys are coming over and we are taking the night off to give the building a break in party and hit the lake (if it doesn't rain).
I will try to post some pictures of the progress on the building.

Swinging johnson pics only
I was thinking more of party barn building features pictures.
One of the guy's dad is going to be here so I would expect it to stay pretty mild until he leaves.
However, with this heat (over 90 here) and the private lake out back, I would expect nudity on lake and land.

He's not so interested in the barn so much as the pole.

The party barn (not really a barn) project is finally finished and even though we have already had some smaller parties, we had our first huge party a couple of weeks ago. Everyone was required to strip down at the door to be admitted and the only limit on restrictions was no fighting and no politics (yes, we even took down our Trump flag for the night). even though most of the partiers were from the swinging community, there were some from our nudist community that crossed over to the swinging side and many first-time nudists (at least for the night). cell phones were checked at the door and my wife had the only camera. It was a good cross section of age from many from our son and daughter's friends on up to us old timers.
My wife is finishing up editing the pictures (no faces) so we will post some as soon as we can.
