Detailed the Explorer today. Only had to spot buff a few places, used M205 on a Meguiar’s Red cutting pad and that did the trick!

Debadged the hood, the corners on the EXPLORER would catch on my towels, so it had to go.
2 coats of CarPro Cquartz UK 3.0, though I ran out towards the end so the front bumper and roof didn’t get. 2nd coat. The front passenger door and fender I really had to stretch what I had left to get that 2nd coat on.

Well, the big "I told you so" is about to happen. After all the Edge ST woes, I warned her multiple times that this Explorer has even MORE electrical stuff than the Edge (massage dual front seats, power folding 3rd row seats!)

Wife called this AM to let me know that the Explorer ST would not start initially this morning. All kinds of warning lights on the dash. She couldn't get the lights to turn off until she opened and closed the drivers door. It has less than 5k on it since we bought it and the electrical gremlins are starting. I'm honestly surprised it took this long. I will look at the manual tonight and see when it's due for the first oil change and see if I can schedule an appointment for oil, electrical gremlins oh and she's already rashed 1 rim, so we'll get that fixed. Good times Ford.

My solution:

Common issue. Old style did it too

 does that make it better or excusable ?

No just saying. My wife’s best friend bought a new explorer the last style and it legit wouldn’t start at least once a week after it had about 5k miles on it. Traded it, and bought another Ford ?
