So I think my next small project will be some aero/ventilation. The turbo kit has me running about 215down the highway with the fan on and I’d like to fix that. I ordered some vents and I’m debating on trying them on my hood or fenders. Hood is pretty likely since it needs replaced anyway. They should be here this weekend so maybe I can get them mocked up. Torn between how their grand national is, or fender.

The vents I got match the ones on the civic. Any opinions on location before I start cutting?

Thats my issue is finding something that looks good and is functional. I’ll look up iroc vents when I get a chance.
It's not the worst thing I've ever seen but still not lining up with that monte body line.

These would look killer IMO

They would! How much do they run? I also considered a zl1 vent sat in a cowl hood. But they’re like $500+ And I’m ballin on a budget lol

I haven't really looked tbh. Just looking for the picture showed me some brand new functionals for about $340 on Summit. I'm sure you can find used ones cheaper, but a lot of them are just fake trim instead of actual scoops.

So it cruises at 215F? What does it idle at? How are you tuning the car?

I just went through a very lengthy process of figuring out the cooling system in my '67 Camaro.

I'd tell you to not just make sure the system is bled properly, but make sure you have a good shroud covering the whole core, and also look at your tune. Regarding the tune, my tuner upped the idle and cruise timing. I went from sitting around 214-220 all the time to 185-190 except in heavy traffic where I got up to 204. But once the road opened up I cooled down to 193. I'm running an a/a that covers 80% of my radiator's front area, and I'm running a single Taurus 16" fan. He's got the fan on at 185, off at 180, and I assume he has the fan off over 40MPH when cruising.

The car is running a terminator x and a 195 thermostat. It’s not overheating, and the fan can cool it off, but there’s no reason to run a fan when I’m doing 70mph. Turning the fan on cools it off, therefore vents should have the same effect. Exact same setup preturbo and it ran 15-20* cooler.

They’re ok for a tale measure and grinder. Took the car out for a bit did 4 pulls at 9psi and the hottest temp I saw was 202 so I think they helped. It’ll be easier to tell when I drive it to work next week though. Went through a drive through and it got to 211 sitting still, when I left it was 204 by the time I got to 55mph.
