Go look on GrandPrixforums.net for the build.

I don't remember how he had the starter setup but I do know he cut part of the Ls4 block off so that it would mate to the 4t80.

I cant believe it took this long for someone to put a ls4/4t80 combo together.

Everyone just called bullshit that it would fit, UNTIL someone actually tried!!

Go figure............

Edit someone please link the gpf.net thread......

GPF.net is blocked on personal computer and personal internet is currently on blackout because of the C130 crash anyways.....

Fixed what I said in the 1st post he cut a tab off so it would mate to the 4t80.

People were calling bullshit due to starter placement being an obstacle....

Not sure exactly what he did to get around it.

Have you looked at what he cut its not much at all.

BTW nothing about putting a 4t80 in a wbody is "bolt in" so I don't think cutting a little tab off is anything too difficult. If one can make a 4t80 fit the block mod on the LS4 is cake......

If cutting a tab off is too hard I suggest people stick with 4t6Fail transmissions, as they are a simple oem setup for LS4 and 3800s

he grafted the ls4/65e bellhousing section to the 80e case and welded it.

with the slop in the LS4 starter noses ive seen, the bendix/gear are free hanging, no end support due to the ls4 block/water jacket right next to the flexplate teeth)

it'd work even if it was out of position

i tried to see if a burn victim LS4 car and an 80e would fit together in the junkyard but i didnt have anything to hack off the block ear, best i could do was rough measures that showed the 80e diff housing hitting the block.

fuck a W body engine bay with the ls4 though...needs to be in a G/H to keep a cunthair more service room around it.

like working on an early N* equipped allante....talk about shoe hornin' shit in from the parts bins

Anyone seen the new pics? I was looking at the thread on Ls1tech.com and looks like he grenade the 4T80 pretty good. Looks like a bunch of shrapnel now. I don't remember what caused it or what broke but I believe the car was approx. 700+ WHP.

4T80e Update (broken) - LS1TECH

I figured it wouldn't last long... I tried to tell him to talk to Ben about his trials
and he assured me he would do it all on his own and needs no help....

I guess gotta break a few eggs ....
