Depending on the true miles that's actually one of the more reasonably priced 7.3 Excursions out there.

I have to tell a guy that his truck we just put 4 injectors in is now starting to eat it's cam shaft

Maybe I'll trade him mine + $8k and I'll redo this engine... It's a never ending cycle

We did and made note of it to him. Let him know valve train has issues. Said just do the injectors.

That's pretty much why I went with a damn near new truck. I know everything that's done to it, 5k oil, 10k fuel filters, never shut off and drive hard durning regen, drive for a few miles after to cool it down... That's why all these guys complain about emissions issues and I'm over here with 50,000 miles not having had a single CEL or emissions related issue.

I know everything that's done to it, 5k oil, 10k fuel filters, never shut off and drive hard durning regen, drive for a few miles after to cool it down... Yeah, like, I do want to delete my truck down the road, but, I've had zero issues thus far which has done nothing but push the delete further and further down the to-do list. It's to the point now where I probably won't even delete it until the DPF wears out and would need replacing.

My Inlaws have an 08 or 09 6.4 CCLB SRW with a Stick-shift that had SIGNIFICANT problems over and over while it was under warranty.

Warranty ended, they did the delete and tossed an exhaust on it, and its been flawless the past like 40,000 miles and sounds awesome.

Next thing is fuel system for $10k and cam/lifters which at that point a new motor is best option. That motor won't make it to 200k

Are you talking about Franks truck or my inlaws?

My inlaws motor was replaced under warranty at like 48K, Truck has like 108 on it now, Exhaust/Delete/Tune was done at like 65k

Gotcha, I think they are actually considering replacing it with something new in the next year or two as they don't typically keep anything as long as they have this one. One of the main things holding them back is that you can't get ford diesels in stick anymore, and they aren't especially partial to the RAM offering.

With the release of the new super duties they might bite the bullet and deal with an automatic.

I will say that the new automatics (6R140) are damn good but the shift parameters are designed for fuel economy, not driving dynamics. That's actually one of my biggest pushes towards tuning the truck is for the transmission changes.
