so my dads thinking about letting me get a new car... he has a few rules

has to be from carmax
has to be FWD or AWD
under $18k
and he wants it to have ABS brakes
all i want it to have is a 5 or 6 speed trans
power windows and locks

perferbly a 2door coupe
something decent on gas mileage
not a old person car allready driving one
easy/cheap to mod
something that looks nice

i want a car not a truck or Suv

anyone got any ideas what i should get?

i think maybe a lil more info on WHAT your looking for. its because 18K is a lot to play with.. and my first thought was a wrx :p though a kitted legacy looks super hot..

bonneville isn't an "old man's" car, it was aimed at 35-50 year olds, the buicks were aimed at 50+year olds. Most people I see in Bonnevilles are 15-45.

Insurance on the WRX would likely be high.

I would look at the Accord coupe as something that fits your requirements: FWD, manual, ABS, decent mileage, aftermarket following. Unlike the sport compacts, newer Accords -- 2005 and up -- came pretty loaded with standard features, like power windows, locks, ABS etc. The only trouble would be finding a manual one.

You have a 94 Bonneville. Comparing that to a 2000+ SSEi is like comparing prime rib to a McRib.

Id also agree WRX.

I wouldn't recommend an 00+ SSEi to anyone. Reliability wise they are horrible, LIM gaskets, intermediate shaft, window regulators AND you're already going to run a slower 1/4 than an identically modded GTP due to weight distribution. It's a comfy ride but if i were buying a new car i wouldn't take one for half off. Get the WRX.
