General Information

imma hack this bitch together in one month, and it'll take down dd's TR, HK's TR, pandawgs and 10sec's stock junk

:jg:

This started as a joke....and it still is....laughable at least....

But here is an index of what is going on with the 3800 insanity

yup, fuel filter pretty much plugged, pressure at rail nearly nothing. pressurized it with air and holy hell does it sound gud

since i took the next week off work ive got the TR to fix the cooling fan and fuel pump, and the cressida fuel system.

i should probably pump the cressida into the suckG and just fill with all new, since im sure the full tank probably loosened up crap in the cressida's tank.... i may have to pull it and swap out the sock since the pump is an inline unit and it use a modern filter up near the drivers foot

Damn it now I have to go back through this thread and find where I installed the fuel filter and hopefully a picture of it cuz I can't quite remember whether I use the double Quick Connect like the TR or whether I used the E85 GM filter in the proper direction. I think I used the 85 GM filter mounted in the proper direction.

So I should probably spend time indexing this thread cuz this takes entirely too long to search page by Page.

Found it. Pg 20
E85 tahoe filter.

Sweet

yeah well i got more work done on this pos
driveshaft is in, trans is cleaned up with new filter and gasket along with 6qts of type f to help it last a little longer lol. managed to find all the bolts i needed for the pan in my misc bolt bin :fy:
also got the fuel system started and the rear half of the 3/8ths hardline ran...OE the feed and return lines are 5/16ths/8mm....weak
now its got a nice big bosch that amazingly enough fit the oe bracket with just some bending and using a longer clamp bolt.
damn bracket is double insulated from the body by rubber mounts....some extra weight lol
aftermarket stock replacement pump rigged in there...things still good but its only rated to 3 bar
IMG_1225.jpg

all the oem wiring is gonna be bypassed in favor of the pcm driven FPrelay control circuit and a dedicated relay and 10ga power and ground ran to the pump
the oe FP wiring is intact and can be switched from the cab...maybe ill use it for the airhorn compressor :s00ls:
here's the new hotness and formed 3/8ths hardlines...talk about a fucking convoluted path for the fuel lines lol
tryin to decide if i wanna remove each hanger and run the 3/8ths in place of the 5/16ths or just ziptie that shit to em
IMG_1229.jpg
took a bit of time but it was well worth it to run the 3/8ths hardline in the oem routing of the old 5/16ths stuff...gotta find more corrugated wire loom for the dedicated FP wires and finally secure the shields.
fixed my leaks from the other day...but one of em moved 2 inches over
the line ran in its contorted path over the driveshaft and over the axle, replaced the 84 vintage rubber hose to the tank while i was in there.
IMG_1234.jpg

runs up the drivers side to the e85 tahoe filter (plumbed the correct direction) with an hose and quick disconnect.
IMG_1238.jpg

above...i grooved the return line ends and just ran 400psi 5/16ths hose, plenty good if a bit hacked :jg:
IMG_1232.jpg

and now all the lines on top are silver...need to finish a couple things and wire up a ALDL connector into the car then i dare say i can start this pig...after i put 5 gal of fresh gas in lol

So uhhhh... do I need an E85 specific filter? I don't think I do.

That's Herbie's number. If you don't get those cars to the racetrack they might just bust out and go on their own. :ROFLMAO:

The E85 filter plums in backwards of the standard GM threaded and quick-connect filter used on the F and W body.
On the WBID the threaded connection goes towards the engine where is on the 85 Tahoes and whatnot the threaded connection is towards the tank.

If I recall there's just more pleats to the material and it's the synthetic filter material not the paper

That's better.

Upstream O2 heats up and appears to be functioning fine all PCM voltages appear to be nominal.
I'm going to go ahead and put in a dedicated crank relay to remove further current load from the factory Toyota ignition switch.

It's running better than it ever has.

ran it for 30 minutes yesterday before shutting down for the night.

got the first quick revision to the maf table now that im in closed loop.

idling at 675 sounds awesome, kinda wanna go lower but im already nearly closed on the IAC counts

fan works, electrical seems to be good to go, appears the alternator is fucked so i need a new 3g 97 e150 4.6 alternator before ill get charging....

today after some initial work on the semi ill be working to toss the bumper cover on and all the lights after i wrap up the O2 harness.

kinda wanna drive it :james:
