WD hitch will just add another 100lbs to the tongue weight. Not a problem for a half ton, kind of a problem for a zr2 with a car behind it lol

well... and, the annoyance of getting a WD hitch setup for whatever you are towing it's not a one size fits all always situation, you gotttsa set it up correctly.

but yeah, GCWR for ZR2 seems to be 10300-10700 so we'll call it 10,700 - 5000?lb truck curb weight = 5700lbs left of gcwr capacity - 5k of trailer, = 700lbs so you better hope you and your other passengers and whatever else junk you are hauling is under 700lbs.

:gulp:

Yeah I think cry once and get an adjustable.

I'm going to swing by a buddy's shop and measure off his open car trailer. I think I will typically need between a 3" and 4" drop.

I have a 2018 ZR2 and I know guys towing over 5K and they are fine. I think with a 3000 lb car and 2000 lb steel trailer I'll be okay.
I wouldn't want to exceed the max tow rating, but if you must, make sure you have a big transmission cooler installed on the truck.

I have talked to other ZR2 guys towing 5000-5500, it's fine.

Last time I personally towed was a long time ago I towed my '98 Formula on my old steel trailer (sold long time ago) a 18 foot? Maclander. with a 2006 TBSS. Was fine.

99% of my towing would be to GLD or US41, so 50 minutes to 2 hours.

For LS Fest we'll see.

I'm not a bigger truck hater it's just a bish to park in Chicago when running around. Plus I hate them really.

You would be a great addition to the group. It's a blast. Northwoods strip clubs are an amazing spectacle to behold.
I have never went. As I started going to the cabin on my own we barely went to the bars.

It's suuuper fucking sketchy I feel late at night being an out of towner. Especially where I'm at.

 this thread. Classic TCG towing. I would never tow AT or above the limit of a vehicle for so many reasons. I’m all for safety factors but so much can go wrong especially for someone that sounds like they are not towing enthusiasts.
