I change my oil every 7000 to 80000 miles. I have 160,000 miles on the motor nevr abused. The last two times I changed it there were some plastic bits in the drained oil. I think it may be a timing chain guide on its way out. My question is should I just replace the bad guide or everything parts cost RockAuto at $524.

Just get the replacement guides. I got all 4 new from Rockauto for under a $100. I didn't see them under Marauder, but, did find them under 03/04 Mach1.

He meant trimming chain. That's what trims the guides off and leaves plastic everywhere.

GET NEW TIMING SEALS!
Part # TCS 45980 from Advance....order online and save a fortune.

Do not buy any timing chain guide unless it has FORD stamped onto it.

Like Zack said, get the Ford stuff, I hear nothing but issues with anything else on CVN. I'd get new front cover gaskets as well, especially at 160k, those things are probably not going to want to seal back up again.

So Zack, there's problems with the Cloyes tension arms and guides? I know Carcraft uses them in the 4.6l projects without problems.
