I love the Ford factory Forged 19" rims. But at 26lbs, they are heavy, and honestly I'd rather step down to an 18" rim to get a bigger sidewall. The tires on the RS have reached the end of their life, they'd need replacement next spring anyways. I don't really want to buy another set of 19" tires. I already own two sets of Forged OEM 19"s. One from the white RS, the other is from the previous gray RS.

Fast FC04 rims. 18x8" and only 18lbs. Can get them in a few different colors and also in an 18x9" rim if I wanted to run a 275/35/18" tire.

I like these, because visually they are similar to the factory option, but end up being about 6lbs lighter per rim. They aren't forged, but aren't cast either. One thing I do not like is the "badge" shit on the rim. Sure, great, its flow formed, stamp it on the inside of the wheel where I can't see it.

Will probably put either 245, or 255mm Michelin PS4S tires on the car.

Still looking at other options, I like the TSW Nurburgrings. Stuck with 18x8" on these. But even with 235's the RS clings to the road like its got velcro. Got some color options here too.

And there is also the Avanti Hybrid. Again, visually very similar to the OEM forged option. Again, have some color options.

No matter what I do, I want to stay sub 20lbs for the wheel. Lighter the better.

So, I think I'm gonna end up with the #1's. I was thinking about doing the 18x9", but honestly, that will just increase the tire cost, and if I'm gonna get a set of track tires, it will be on a separate rim. So for now the stock 8" width will do.

So now I'm thinking, Titanium, Black, Machined silver, or matte bronze. Hmmm.. Gloss black means I'll end up with a rim that is basically indetinguishable from the factory forged rims. But I do like the way the matte bronze and Titanium look.

Machined Silver, Titanium, Gloss Black.

The factory wheels are gloss black, so it won't look much different lol.

Part of me wants to say fuck it and go with the 18x9" and run 275's, cause grip. But adult me says Cost, and I won't be tracking these wheels. So 275's are waste.

I'll reserve for a track set, where I can run a 18x9" with 275 RE71r's and have face ripping grip at the track.

Gonna think about the color a bit more. Will probably end up with Titanium or Matte Bronze.

Does the car tram at all now on crowned roads? If so, the 275’s are gonna be that much worse. Part of the reason I stuck with the 245’s. 30mm of extra grip at each corner was super tempting, but the tramming and road noise changed my mind.

If you aren't looking for the best track time, then stick with a 235. Getting light weight wheels but a heavy wide 275 tire is counter-productive if you can instead just get a grippy light 235 tire. Besides, if you want the car to be a bit playful at lower levels, a skinnier tire will allow that as well. Tirerack and discounttiredirect both list tire weights. Generals and Continentals are typically the lightest decent tires out there from my research.
