I have a line on a couple dohc engines from 93 Lincoln lsc's. If I remember right the short blocks are the same as ours. Im pretty sure the heads are different but I can swap my fresh heads into the LSC short block if I'm not mistaken
Ya I got the year wrong. I did however pull the oil pan and rod caps to find 6 of the 8 rod bearings are destroyed. Luckily the bearings were coming apart and didn't hurt the crank or rods so ill put it back together tomorrow. And be good to go. The rod bolts aren't torque to yield are they? And I can re use them right?
No, the rod bolts should not be reused. Replace with a good set of ARP and then you just torque them to 55 ft.lb. If you go with ARP 2000, then torque to 60 ft.lb.
Almost all the bolts on the 4.6 are TTY (torque to yield).
thats less than i expected. i was really hopng to get it back together today since i hae the day off but oh well. its been six months whats a few more days. thanks for the info and looking up the prices!
those rod bolts look like they have a nut that goes on them instead of the bolt going through the cap and threading into the rod.. is it a different design than stock? nevermind i found a picture on lane automotive's website i think the on eon summit and amazon is a generic picture.
