Soooooo, knowing nothing about boats, one thing that would terrify me would be crossing the wake of that boat when it just passed me going 150+ while I was going 100+.

Valid concern? Because the dude drove right in to the wake, had to have crossed it less than a second after the vid shut off

Not a big deal really, there's a huge difference between a 3k# 20' ski boat and a 15k# 43' MTI.

QC4v's with M8's are 200k a piece.

That lake looked like glass. Offshore racing occurs in much rougher water and the boats are made for it.
