If this since deleted tweet from Cosworth is legit, then yes.

https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/a22791453/aston-martin-valkyre-will-be-the-worlds-most-powerful-naturally-aspirated-car/

Update, August 22nd, 2018, 9:30am: This post was originally published on August 21st at 3:20pm, shortly after engine builder Cosworth sent out a tweet that seemed to reveal the Aston Martin Valkyrie's horsepower figure. Shortly after, the tweet was deleted. A Cosworth spokesperson tells Road & Track that the deleted tweet "contained inaccurate information, hence its subsequent deletion." The spokesperson went on to say that the Valkyrie engine is currently being dyno-tested at Cosworth's UK facilities, and is still undergoing calibration. "Consequently, no precise figures related to the engine have been confirmed," the spokesperson told R&T.

That would be hard to believe. That is about 174 hp per liter. The 812 Superfast is the most powerful n/a car for sale I believe. That makes 789 hp with a 6.5 liter engine. Or 121 hp per liter.

I mean Cosworth is amazing. But let's see what happens when official numbers are released.

They are saying BHP so who knows what that equates to in wheel.....would still be over 1000 NA (or just under)

Manufactures use BHP for their numbers. They use engine dynos for testing. The 789 hp is from the crank on the 812 Superfast motor.

I know OEM dont use whp numbers, just saying that I wonder what the real world power equates to.

ahhh.

The old standard was to subtract 15% for driveline loss. But I am not sure if that still is accurate. For one, the current drivelines are more efficient than in the past. The other thing being does the amount used by the driveline stay consistent or does it really increase as power levels increase.

But 1130 minus 15% is like 960 I believe.

Seeing that this isn't your normal production car, I bet it uses some current technology and lightweight materials. I think it is safe to say 10%. So 1017 whp. To make your jimmies happy. lol

That kind of power for that size motor probably means a lot of rpm. For reference, the 812 Superfast has its peak power at like 8,500 rpm.

Since nobody's brought it up, what's the torque?????? The torque could be like 500ftlbs.

Amazing car, i just don't understand why they'd make it NA with the goal of 1k+ hp. Just because they can?

Hillbilly simpleton analogy: It'd be like going to the early 00's and building the fastest carb'd LS engine. Congrats...but...using the technology available you probably could have made the same power, for less $, with better reliability

Holy fuck balls this is gonna sound amazing.

https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/a23581100/aston-martin-valkyrie-sound/

Here's a refresher on what makes this engine so special. It's a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated unit loosely based on Cosworth's 2.4-liter V8 Formula 1 engine, rumored to produce upwards of 1130 horsepower (and yes, that's before you factor in the extra hybrid power), which would make it the most powerful production engine on the planet. In a world of forced induction, it certainly stands out.
The engine sound is dubbed over a rendering of the car, seemingly taken inside a room (possibly a dyno test?). It sounds downright fantastic. As a reminder, the engine is said to have an 11,000-RPM redline, which will make it the highest-revving production car ever made. Judging by the sound in this video, that seems about right.

Numbers are official.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar will have a total system output of 1,160 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. We knew the raw figure from the naturally aspirated V12 engine was 1,000 horsepower, but a few details on the KERS-style hybrid assistance system were released today. In doing the math, this means the single electric motor mounted in the gearbox is responsible for adding 160 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque to the equation.
Peak combined power is made at a dizzying 10,500 rpm, with peak torque coming in at a still-high 6,000 rpm. If you missed out on the engine breakdown from this past December, then know the 6.5-liter V12 will keep spinning until 11,100 rpm.
At this point we know there will be an even more exclusive AMR Pro track-only variant and a track pack option for the "normal" Valkyrie, which isn't all that normal itself. It's expected to weigh a light 2,200 pounds and have an unrestricted top speed of 254 mph. Aston appears to be continuing development on the car, so don't consider those final quite yet.

So am I reading that correctly? The 1,160 hp & 664 tq is with the electric motor?

So the engine makes 1,000 hp and 457 tq?
