Yeah 20x10’s up front and 18x10.5’s in the back. The plan is to run a 305/45/18 size tire.

I still need to order a pair of 20x10.5’s
If you want to run a 28" tall tire, Hoosier makes an actual radial tire that will work. Not street legal, but there is a guy running these on his stick Whipple car getting into the lower 1.4x on his 60 foot times at the track.

I might look into these next for my 17's.

Have you plugged all your info into a gear calculator? Plug some info in to see where you'll be at by the end of the quarter mile to see if the taller tire is necessary. I imagine you'd be crossing the traps at the top of 4th?

Here's a couple calculators that will let you know what speed/rpm you'll be at per gear. Just need to plug in the specifics for your car.

Gear Ratio Calculator (tremec.com)

Gearing Calculator | RPM and Tire Diameter to km/h - mph with Shift Tracer (blocklayer.com)

I want a taller tire to have a more sidewall and improve the overall contact patch. Stock tires are 28.7" tall and the 305/45 Mickey is 29.02, so pretty damn close in tire height. I'll take the slightly reduced gear ratio if there is any by the 0.32" taller tire as traction off the line is tough.

Top of 4th with the 305/45R18 Mickey will put my speed at 147 mph.

That blocklayer calculator is so cool!

What will the 28” tire put you at rpm wise?

When we were at the track this fall I was running the R888R in a 285/35R20 which is a 28.4" tall tire. I was trapping 130mph, so based off of that my RPM was 5,700.

At 5,700 rpm a 28" tall tire would put me at mph 128mph and the 29.02 tall Mickey will put me at 133mph.

A smaller tire should get my 60' down assuming traction is perfect, but a bigger tire will net me more mph on the big end right?

The bigger tire isn’t gonna give you more mph. We’re really splitting hairs I was just wondering if you were close to running out of gear with the current tire or what. The 29’s are gonna serve you well I think. Especially since your car makes so much power down low, keeping the rpm’s up high isn’t a concern for you like it is for us Coyote cars.
