Ordered a transmitter lol. I'll be able to plug this into the PC and fly simulators until I buy/build a real quadcopter.
Came here today to post an rc thread and found this one.
New here. My kids (5 and 8) have taken a huge liking to RC's but currently just cheap Walmart one. We have a local dirt oval rc track so I figured I'd jump into the hobby for something to do with my boys. Made a fb post asking for suggestions and an old friend gifted me three cars to get started. Traxxas stampede, eck torment, and some other ecx. Also have me a bu ch of batteries and chargers. Everything is 10 years old as his kids lost interest in them and he threw them in his basement. Trying to jump head first in and figure out what's what. Thinking I made need to replace some battery and or parts.

Picked up a traxxas Slash vxl 4x4 locally for $300 w/ battery. Has a bunch of upgrades on it, metal ds, axles, hubs and lcg chassis. Running a 2s lipo, let my 5 year old ( the one pictured with grave digger) try it out after me. Literally 2 minutes later and it now has a broken control arm. ? ordered news ones from RPM along with a 3s battery.
Replaced the axles with traxxas extra HD axles. and hubs with some cr-racing from Amazon. the truck stears so much better! I need some new tires though as all 4 have rips in them.
Just seeing this now so little late to the party. But I have a 2WD Rustler so very similar, and mine did the exact same thing recently. Looked JUST like that. I rebuilt the diff and replaced the case with factory parts.
How much was that? And it was a whole assembly or something? I looked around a little but wasn't sure if it was totally worth it. If it craps out again I will definitely check into that. Which one did you use? Direct replacement?

I used the 272r trans it’s a direct replacement on the stampede and a bunch of others, it’s pricy 140ish I got it local but pretty sure it was retail price, so far so good though it’s been great

That’s badass but before I spend $150 on my stampede I’d rather put the money towards a traxxas HOSS 4x4
100% I need a new body because of it the pins ripped right thru the plastic body. I want a dual battery Lipo set up on a 4x4 just don’t know what to get yet.
Well, after USPS took this thing on a tour of the United States, it finally got delivered today. I already hooked it up to the PC and have been playing with the drone simulator(uncrashed)
