When we were leaving the hospital I was like "they're really just going to let me walk outta here with this baby?"

I had the same feeling when they transferred us to the second room after they were born. “Ok call us if you need anything”… I’m just sitting over there thinking “what the fuck am I supposed to do with this thing?”

Every time I'm worried that I'm not doing something right, or that I hope I dont hurt her or anything, I just think, there are crackheads out there with multiple kids that survive just fine.

Our youngest, a 3.5yo, is doing great with pee on the toilet, but he just hates pooping on the toilet. We struggle with that and will need to adjust our approach.
He eventually just shit on the toilet. I dont think I can pinpoint one specific thing that made it happen, it just kinda did.

Have you gotten him to shit in the toilet instead of on it? Seems like a messy way to poop.

Shitting on the toilet would be an improvement. It's a lot easier to clean up than a nasty pair of underwear. One of us (probably me), missed a small nugget when we did the wash one time. The whole load of laundry stunk like poo.

My kid has developed this weird thing he does. He finds a ball or any object really. Then he stands by the table and put his head right at the edge of the table and holds the object right on the edge while studying it closely before letting it go. It’s like he’s trying to find the bleeding edge of balance for various objects on the edge of the table. My parents I think are concerned because he does it all the time, but we’ve just been calling him “Arlo, master of gravity” and figure he will grow out of being obsessed with physics.

Thank you all. I feel like a deadbeat already for getting a few hours of sleep, but yesterday was a very long one. Buddy was taken to the NICU this morning around 6 because we can't get his blood sugar under control. Mom was tested multiple times during pregnancy for gestational diabetes and was clearly negative, so nobody is worried about that. Apparently low blood sugar is super common for babies that come out super sized though. Hopefully we get him back in a few hours.
