Did a dragy run on the bike yesterday for fun, I believe I let off somewhere around the 1000’ mark and got on the breaks pretty hard there was a car up the road a bit

Did you ride all the way out? It's really weird how the landscape has such a dramatic change as soon as you cross the Missouri River.

I did that trip back in August 2016 the week before Sturgis. Some great riding out there. If you end up near Keystone/Custer, take a roll through Custer State Park and come back up north on the Iron Mountain Rd (16A). Be prepared to scrape floorboards. You can stop at the Mt Rushmore Vista and check out the monument from across the valley.

Route 87 was also a fun drive, but i think Iron Mountain Rd was better.

Yeah, we rode. We did all that today, plus Crazy Horse. Lunch at Mt. Rushmore right now then head back toward the cabin in Lead.
