Welp, just ordered Cams and a tune. Should be about 90 to the tire.
The reason is the cam tensioners go around 40,000, just hit 40k.
If they go, it's not good, wrecks the motor..... Thus, while he is already there replacing the cam tensioners, might as well pop in hotter cams
All is good, bike is done. He is tuning it right now. I had a little scare, pushrod bore was a bit scuffed thus the possibility of the motor eating itself was a concern.
In any event, I'll be smoking the rear tire off tomorrow
So I asked him about breaking it in, he said "You won't Man, just ride it like you stole it."
I turned the table on him saying ok, if it were your bike how would you break it in?
Wrench said he would not go above 3,000 RPM for 500 miles.
Thus, I rode ten miles last night, did not hit it once. I'm gonna try to break it in right... I've put almost twelve thousand dollars into this thing because I have been beating, the absolute fuck out of it since it was new. Most people don't blow the trans three times in 34,000 miles.....
It's a completely different bike, I'm happy putting around listening to it POP... hahaha
