I don't have a preference on two sinks. Coming from a house with limited counter top space I would never get two sinks and give up space. His kitchen seems big but not so large that he needs two sinks or should give up the space. Hell my brother has a 5x10 island in his kitchen and only has one sink, in the island. Beer pong works just fine.

this bro's got my first floor square footage in counter tops he's got the room

i mean... except for the functionality but

sure

I don't really see the functionality difference, even using the "triangle" thing the distances are not far between the sink, stovetop, fridge & oven.

Plus, sitting in the living room then looking over to see perfectly symmetrical backsplash and uppers, that's great

oh my god

they did the kitchen cabinet thing i fucking hate but crack up at

want to make it appear you balled out for cabinets? but didn't? do you like having to stand on chairs and ladders?

THIS IS FOR YOU

stupidass 12" cabinet above a "normal" 30" cabinet.

id almost rather do 39 uppers with 3" crown with a gap above them and have them 3" higher than normal if i were to do it all again.

one thing i strongly dislike, is when people do 30" uppers and then 12" above them to give the look of 42" cabinets the "cheap" way... it just looks tacky to me. and those uppers are so fucking high off the ground that only i or EmersonHart13 EmersonHart13 are gonna be able to grab them handles.

you get dolllhairs out of kitchen upgrades not garage doors bruhhh
I really haven't skimped on anything in the kitchen

-Widened the "dining room" area to 10x16 (was like 10x12)
-Pushed the kitchen ~18" in to the garage so we could make a 4x9 island work
-Added an 8x5 walk-in pantry that the plan didn't originally have

I'm wondering if the walk in pantry is cutting it off too much?

Maybe doing a row of pantry cabinets there instead of walling it off would make it look different?

I'm trying to figure out what is making it seem off to me, maybe it's like KJ is saying and the dual ovens and the fridge stacked next to each other? :dunno:

Just envisioning holiday dinner, someones trying to pull shit out of the oven while someones trying to get in the fridge and theyre all clustered together....

Renderings came back and they look awesome, AND close enough to the budget that I'm good with it

Question for TCG: What would you do with the island? Right now it protrudes pretty far out in to the "walkway" (which is open to the dining room as you can see) because the cabinet lady gave us more space between the pantry & island. Also as you can see she recommended moving the double oven next to the fridge, which was a great idea.

Print screenshot & renderings are below. I'm fine taking 6" off the island and making it 4 x 8'6", but i'm not taking off more than that.

I kinda feel like the island should be pulled a little bit "in" (closer to the stovetop and fridge), take 6" off, and call it a day.

I like this drawing looks much better than worrying out symmetry with upper cabinets, will be more functional as well.

Here's a picture of this layout essentially (minus the cabinets to the right of the fridge since youre adding a walk in pantry):
