With the ole facebooks down I need something to occupy my time at work outside of actually, ya know working. Own a 2006 Silverado SS intimidator and working on a 99 single cab nbs LS swap since it was originally a v6 truck.

Why the swap on the 99? I know everything is expensive right now, buying an already v8 truck of the same vintage seems like such a better idea. Not flaming, genuinely curious.

reminds me of being a kid stuck modding whatever junk I owned at the time

Great question! I wanted to do a sloppy dont bs me build and I bought this from the nursery I work at for $200. I also bought a 99 single cab 2500 obs for $200 from them the same day just to have the 4l80e out of it and scrap the rest. I sold the trans out of the v6 truck for $150 as well as the a/c compressor for $50 so as long as I get $200 from scraping the 2500 I’m essentially into the truck itself for nothing. As long as I don’t complete blow a budget I should be into the truck with the turbo for about what a bone stock nbs would have cost me
