My rear tires were rubbing pretty bad in the bumpy twisties. I could smell rubber and there are lines on outside of each tire. I need to raise the rear up even more. That being said I was very impressed with the Kumho's. They were very sticky and road amazing compared to the dry rotted run flats that came on the stock wheels. Traction wasn't an issue for me, thrust was.

Had a good time in the twisties on day three. I just backed up half the group going 20 mph and then put it on full send for a few corners.
Probably scared greasy greasy and Mook Mook when my 4500lb land yacht came screaming out of nowhere [emoji1]

I wasn't skurred, your brakes were super grabby from what I assume were aggressive track pads? I also know you have done your fair share of road courses. (y)

At first I didn't know why we were all of a sudden going bat shit fast then about to rear end someone. Then I saw it and stopped trying to keep up so hard.

Well fuck me, I did not know this. Must know more.

Basically it replaces the factory unit and updates all of the settings for each driving mode, adjusting in milliseconds rebound and stiffness of the shocks based on the speed of the vehicle and how the road is effecting the shocks. The ride is super comfortable in the street setting, rides like a Caddy. Regardless of the mode, provides great weight transfer but immediately stiffens up on rebound. In track mode I feel like you get the best steering and braking feel, but the ride is more harsh obviously. Works really well.

I figured out how your rear tires don't rub. You have about 2" of up and down travel so I could see that happening.

Speaking of bumps. I think PANDA PANDA was fucking with us. He brings a stock suspension 5 series on 16" tires and sends us down all these bumpy roads, a gravel road, and then off roads it after tour. :ROFLMAO:

Jokes on you. The "road" from the waterfalls to Lake of the Clouds is actually a snowmobile trail. Being from IL and all, I didn't think anywhere else was very bad.

There were a bunch of those, roads that are closed during winter so they can serve as sled trails. I recognized a few of them as we were zipping around.

Those groomers are also the reason you don't haul ass at night. You slam into one of those and you're done. Some, or most, carry transponders/beacons that you can pick up so you know when you're close to one.

SpeedSpeak2me SpeedSpeak2me -virgin, first timer on this tour but sounds like you have great road trip experience. Great time talking with ya.

Overall the tour was amazeballs. Even though I've been on a few and have basically met everyone, there is still that quietness when everyone first gets together, but it's such a good group that by 2nd stop or lunch people just cannot shut the fuck up and that's amazing.

What alot of the others that haven't toured don't get to experience are the little things like checking into the hotels and getting gas. Dilemmas everywhere we go that turn into stories later at dinner.

The bar stories, late night food journeys, almost being a victim to vehicular manslaughter by the dominoes guy at 12:45 am, etc etc... Those little tid bits add up right quick and before you know it the tour is fucking over.

This tour in particular the roads were super nice and the sight seeing was top notch. This was my first tour being a passenger but it let me indulge in the views and holy fuck were there some good ones.

I have no complaints, no real suggestions yet.

4 days for next one, maybe even having a picnic style lunch so we can have a go kart night or axe throwing or skip a trail or sight seeing event.

More than happy to provide route/things to do for future tours.

I'm forgetting things.

I told wifey the story of my car alerting me that I had crossed the 125mph barrier and she goes... Say that again... So I did and then I look over and I knew I should have kept that story to myself. :ROFLMAO:

Next time, We can set the warning to 165 that way if she's asks if you got warned you can honestly say... No, never.

Your car tells you when you’ve reached a set speed? I’ve never heard of that before. That’s pretty neat.

My dad asked me what my VMax was. I said I backed out about 145-150 due to crosswinds.

“your car goes that fast?”

Dad, it was still pulling, I had another 2000rpm to work with.

“Shiiiiit”

I will say, those speeds are not foreign to me. At a track like Road America I’ll hit 165-170 3x a lap on my small bike, exposed to the elements on two wheels. My overall VMax ever, where I was in control, was a 204.5mph two way average. On a bike, wearing jeans, t-shirt, running shoes, sunglasses, gloves, and ear plugs.

Boy was I dumb.

So, a thought on communications. For the next tour if there is a group of 10 cars or more that plan on staying together I’ll offer to run caboose. Reason is I can bring a much more powerful radio. It’s an investment I’m willing to make to take some of the responsibility. I might not be able to hear the cars way up ahead, but they’ll definitely be able to hear me.

Also, I think whomever is leading the group of cars should not be the one to keep track of everyone behind them. I’m not saying that the person is not capable. I’m saying their focus should be on setting the pace (consistent speed), navigating, and watching for what’s coming up. It’s their cheese hanging out in the wind taking a risk, so it’s not fair to them to shoulder that extra burden. If they have a copilot that’s willing then the situation can be re-evaluated. Maybe the second car takes main comms since they will be able to easily relay major points to the lead car and filter what’s not important?

Holden's have an overspeed indicator that you can set to whatever you want, which is what they're referring to.

And you can't forget our little rest reminder that pops up. On the GTO's, in the D.I.C. it is a little pictogram of a picnic table under a tree or something with "Rest Reminder" and chimes at you until you hit the reset (or pull over and shut the car off).
