Day 2 - Route and Itinerary.
Wake up at your leisure. Preferably "early" if you would like to leave with the rest of the group. Eat the free breakfast at the hotel or go somewhere else. Gas up your vehicle and meet in the hotel parking lot at for a 830AM Departure. We will be leaving shortly after. Todays route will take us north into Wisconsin and back into Minnesota. Our first stop will be at the Taylors Falls Overlook. We will be making up some time on highway 35 North to Duluth. Highway pulls with your friends optional during this stretch. Lunch will be at Sara's Table, Chester Creek Cafe. After lunch we will head over to the Park Point Recreation Area for a quick photo op with Lake Superior. Our route will then take us along Lake Superior after a gas stop in Duluth. We will be stopping at Myers Beach for a hike to see the Bayfield Peninsula sea caves. If you don't want to hike you can stay at the beach. The short hike is absolutely worth it. By this time it will probably be late afternoon and after we drive through scenic downtown Bayfield (or stop to explore if we have time) we will arrive at the Hotel Chequamegon in Ashland Wisconsin. Free time until 8PM dinner. We will be eating at The Chequamegon Grill inside the hotel. Pool or parking lot shenanigans to follow.
