I'm Tom, 22 and from middle of nowhere WI. Not much to do up here so forewarning I have a lot of toys lol. I'm in my senior year at UW Oshkosh for a Criminal Justice degree but not really not sure that's what I want to do anymore. Anyway I work part time/seasonal full time at a powersports dealership and I've been there since my sophomore year of high school. I discovered sloppy a few years ago and decided last year I wanted to start my first LS build so I bought and swapped my mullet missile 82 Camaro. Also have an '06 Sierra 1500HD as my tow pig and daily a '12 Impala ltz. The past few years I've been flipping all kinds of stuff but mostly Cherokee XJ's as a side hustle for college money and actually just picked a minty clean 65k mile '89 Comanche 2wd with a blown 2.5 and peugeot 5 speed. That will be getting a 4.0HO ax15 4x4 swap hopefully before the end of the year (donor in the background of camaro pic). This spring a buddy and I picked up a '93 Sea Ray 180br that needed a motor and it got the $150 4.3 vortec craigslist special truck engine treatment. Also the only brand new vehicle/toy I've ever owned, my 2020 Can-Am Outlander 850.

Only pic I have of the daily impala, when my buddy and I put a torque converter in it a few weeks ago.

The boat that everybody told me a truck motor wouldn't work in. Runs flawless and spent probably 8 weekends on the lake with it this summer.

I like to build stuff with used parts that are 80% sourced from junkyards. First build was a proof of concept build that cost me $2500 all in - 1998 Firebird 6.0 LQ4 and later 4.8.

Current build is a Twin turbo 1992 corvette 5.3 LM4 with $76 a piece ebay turbos and tons of stuff from S10 blazers, bonnevilles, sebrings, trailblazers, pacificas, and more. I posted that in the Sloppy build thread.

I also like to hit the lake on the weekends with my family.

F-body’s, GMT-800’s, XJ’s, boats, quads.

Yeah, we’d get along.

Funny enough, back from like 2011-2014 I flipped 15-20 XJ’s when I was of college age (Graduated 2010). That was back in the Craigslist hay days when you could find one for like $2,600 with two shitty pictures of the passenger front seat and a 3/4 shot of the body. Enough to tell you trim level, rust, etc if you knew what you were looking at.

Would go lowball people on them, run them through a cheap car wash and take 15+ pictures with a $5,500 asking price. I miss those days.

I incorporated in 2017 and “flip” stuff full time now. Commercial trucks and heavy equipment. I’m right on the IL/Wis border in McHenry County.

I’m right on track! I think the Comanche is the 10th one I’ve had in the past 3-4 years. My buddy and I have been going halves on a lot of the flips, I usually find clean 00-01 with blown motors from the shitty 0331 heads and swap in the older engines that I can get for pennies at a local yard. More work but a lot more profit when I have less than $1000 in a lot of them. My buddy is one of the head techs at the dodge dealership in our town and he’s kind of getting sick of it and we have been tossing around the idea of starting a small dealership when I’m done with school.

The name is Jim, 41 years old, and I live in the NW suburbs of Chicago. Some call me "greasy stakz" (see pic below). I am a sales manager for DEWALT covering the Great Lakes region. Started off my car enthusiast life having a HUGE hard on for Ram Air Trans Ams back in the late 90's, but then was converted in a Ford Fanboy when my best friend bought a '94 GT Mustang. From that point on I bled Ford blue. First fun car was a slow-as-shit silver '97 NPI Mustang GT, then moved onto a slightly better but still slow Sonic Blue 2004 Mustang GT, then sold that car and moved back into an SN95 Rio Red '97 Cobra "NOVI SVT", but now I say screw those Ford fuckbois. I am now a Mopar Man when I picked up the Litter Box a 2016 Go Man Go Challenger Hellcat. Narrow body car that makes 835 to the wheels and runs on corn so it means that the car is environmentally friendly. Car can't break out of the 12's in the 1/4 because I am too scared to do a burnout :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: No pics of the first 2 Mustangs that I could find......I recently started welding/fabricating. Made a fancy strut tower brace for the rear of the Hellcat.

im jon. live in the snowy end of Canada in the eastern Atlantic provinces. im a certified VW technician by trade but after many years left vw and started my own shop which my wife works with me who is a mechanic as well. we primarily fix Volkswagens but I also do body work and painting plus I fix Harleys so the shop is a zoo most days.

as for my rides well I have an array of old junk, some sloppy some nice lol 1990 K3500 with a 550hp carb'd 454/4 speed, squeaky clean 1992 GMC 2 door Yukon, 1972 c10, 2005 srt4 stage 3 and a few volkswagens and a 16 wrangler not worth mentioning lol .couple old Harleys, 2009 Dyna with custom paint and a built motor 120 hp rear wheel and a carb'd geezer glide plus im a 2 stoke lover so always gotta have a rm250 of some sort in the arsenal.
I also have a 77 trans am which ive inherited from my father when he passed, he bought it new and its pretty much mint but its just tucked away in a garage hiding until the time is right.

I’m Jon. 31 just moved to Bartlett. I sell hand and power tools. I drive a 2016 Jeep SRT. Had a 2000 Trans am with a 6 speed for almost 10 years but I got rid of it earlier this year to help buy a house. Hoping to have a c6 Z06 or a mustang for next season!

If you’re willing to put the work in that’s definitely the way to go buying reparable stuff.

Where are you located in Wisco?

My name is Cameron.. I am a Regional Network Admin in the midwest region, but based out of Bentonville, AR. Just glad to be jumping back into a forum format. I used to be prominent on s10forums, ls1tech, and a few others.

My current sloppy project is a wrecked 04 cts-v someone stripped the ls6 and t56 out of. I am working on mounting a 2016 L83 5.3 and 4L80e in it with anticipation of running a single turbo, terminator x, and 8.8 rear end.

My daily is a 2019 ram rebel that gets treated like a 2 dollar whore on dollar night. My past loves was a stockish 2015 srt392 challenger, and a 2006 srt magnum. The magnum was my start into the sloppy life before i knew what sloppy mechanics was. It had a second hand novi1500 setup, moderate custom grind cam, ebay long tubes, and DSS half shafts.. All installed in the parking lot of an apartment complex.. (Oreilly Auto Parts parking lot smoke show for bonus points? I grabbed 3rd gear during that one)

DAT MAGNUM! I'm loving this uprise in modern hemi builds, and I don't think Magnums ever got the respect they deserved.

That V project looks really fun too.
