Might as well Join in on the fun. My name is Ryan, and I am a Respiratory Therapist that now works in Medical IT as an Epic Application Analyst. I live just west of Houston in Magnolia, Texas. These are the rides that I currently own, but I definitely have a car addiction issues as I've owned a lot.

As you can see I like to stay busy, and I am currently very focused on preparing my Dakota for Drag Week/RMRW style racing.

My 1992 Dakota 5.3 with TH400 - BTR Custom Cam and 3800 Converter. Just ran 12.47 @ 106 which is the best past so far. It has a long history behind it, and you can check it out on the sloppy builds section for more info.

My 1968 Nova SS - Real SS Car, but does not have original drivetrain. Has a 1970 LT-1 and Muncie M20 that was built in the 80's. Was a barn find car that hadn't ran since 1989 before I bought it in 2018. Best pass to date is 12.90 @ 105

1992 GMC Sonoma GT - Same family as Syclone/Typhoon without the go fast goodies, A joint project between a buddy and I, currently just lowered on DJM LCA's. Will be getting an LV3 and further suspension work for a pro-touring style truck.

I hope you post a lot about the LV3 swap. I'd love too see the Sy/Ty guys jump on that, but I haven't seen any yet.

My name is Jon and I work as a pilot and aircraft mechanic for humanitarian airlift operations. After spending two years in a warzone in central asia I'm back in the states splitting my time between NoVA and Charlotte, looking at trying to finally get a place to consolidate my stuff out of storage just over the SC state line so I can play with cars again.

My last two dailies were these girls:

For ground based transportation my current daily is a 91 240 Volvo wagon that I've been collecting parts while overseas to do a dontbsme clone on. Looking at a 7 speed BMW DCT for the trans and have a C4 corvette front suspension to go under it when I can get access to my tools again.

Somewhere in college I started racing but realized it was a lot more affordable to build cars for others than myself so I ended up becoming a professional race car mechanic. Over the years I ended up working for a number of series and teams before leaving to fly full time a decade ago. While busy crewing I did build my 01 Saturn SC2 into an SCCA ITA test mule before going towards FProduction with it while helping a friend with his race program backed by the Central Florida Saturn dealerships and minor support from the Saturn corporation.

For even faster lap times I picked up an 02 Honda RC51 SP2 race bike and then tossed some lights and mirrors on it to take it on the street.
_DSC9075_1.JPG

With having worked for that saturn team I ended up with a large stockpile of race parts that we ended up not using or replaced with more aggressive components so I tossed them at a 95 Saturn SW2 wagon as a daily driver/parts hauler. When it started having some issues with a leaking roof I ended up getting a nearly identical 95 SW2 wagon which I proceeded to immediately strip to the shell and start swapping the 1.9L LLO engine for the 2.0L supercharged LSJ from the Ion Redline/Cobalt SS because I can't leave anything well enough alone.

Somewhere in my garage stored away I also have a 1994 IMSA GTO Camaro that was run by Morgan Motorsports after they won the GTO class championship in 93 with Oldsmobile and before they moved to the Ferrari 333SP in WSC and eventually went to NASCAR as Morgan-Dollar Motorsports.

Here's something I never thought I'd say in 2020......or ever. That Saturn wagon is awesome.
It still has a long way to go, need to widen the front end about 4in to squeeze more tire under it and let me drop it on the coilovers. Hard to be upset with an econo box that can get 30mpg on the highway and still have 210-240 at the front tire.

You say that... but it has a long way to getting back on track, bought it as a bare frame with only the interior sheet metal. Was an inhouse design based on their experience with other manufactures that they had used in the past. With having won the championship the year before they pulled out all the stops with it leveraging the computer company that the Morgan's also owned for structural analysis ending up with what has been called the stiffest car of that era. Sadly it didn't do so well in the 94 season and was then used on a limited schedule the next year by Charles' son Rob before they moved on to the Ferrari in WSC. Wish I could say that I has progressed a ton since this picture before I picked it up but it is one of those really long term projects. If anything I may use it as a template for parts of its design to fabricate a new frame that is better proportioned to fit under a street car body with an LS up front.

There are some out there, if you know where to look. Sadly, most of the really good parts are now gone. There are a few dedicated people who offer parts and services to keep them on track, but you have to be willing to pay bespoke prices for it. If you can fabricate and aren't scared of some work then its not too bad really, things like the front mounted radiators and oil cooler that the race bikes used are now none existent but you could make them if you are willing to invest the time, money, and effort. Other things like the Ohlins can be acquired and setup by some specialists. While by far the most produced and cheapest to buy of any in the RC series, the RC51 is not particularly cheap to modify for racing. Technology has come a long way in the last two decades so the bikes sit in the no mans land between really ancient tech, and the really modern. Still if you want something unique and love the sound of a V-twin superbike, it is both more rare and far more affordable than a Ducati of the same era.

IM me if you wanna know more ;)
I'm Nick, I live in Lansing, IL and I'm an EMT (electrical mechanical technician) aka Maintenance. Heavy background in mechanical and welding.

I'm the truck guy that pops in randomly and says I still need to finish this with no commitment in mind...

I had my f-bodies ( 98 z28, 98 ta, 00 ws6) but I love being an underdog. Was known for my 04 Silverado I 6.0/4l80e swapped, now I rock a new POS GM truck giving me just as many headaches as the last one.

I also have a 79 Camaro, which I have a huge commitment issue with. Hey, it'll happen don't judge...
