Caught a couple bass, they had eggs, also some crappie.

7.5 lbs Carp hit a Chartreuse Rattletrap. Never seen that before.

I took a pic of it by shore before I landed as proof and folks would not believe. Mouth hooked. I saw the carp dart after the rattle trap and nail it. Thought it was a large bass

Went to some lake that is nicknames bass lake with the FIL. tons Of people there all fishing for the big bass but not a single person was catching shit. Casted out some of the big stuff and had some smaller hits. Ended up saying fuck it and broke out the ultralight with a tiny jig and float. Caught a fuck ton of panfish, crappie, and dinky LM bass. Ended up being a good time. FIL is going to start to keep an ultralight setup with him too.

Redid my ultra lite pond fishing pole that I use for panfish with the wife. Did it up the same as the wife’s. Used to have 2# braid but lost too many bass on the rig.

Now it’s 6# braid and a 4# mono leader, small casting float on bobber stops, and a tiny mule fishing jig and Donkey tail jr plastic. Just slays the panfish at the ponds and can just handle med sized bass if you are careful.

3 bass (15” - 16”), 1 Crappie (12”), 1 Carp (24”, 9 lbs)

Well… broke out the ultra lite and hit up the pond to just chill and catch some panfish. Nope… lost 3 lures to some bass and catfish. Broke out the big rod and put the same lure on a little larger hook and proceeded to catch a couple 2 lb bass and 2 catfish. Weird these fish are hitting a 1” panfish lure. Took pictures of 2 of them as best I could since I was by myself.

Going to try Cattail Slough in about an hour or so. It’s across from Clinton Iowa. It will be our first time there. Hopefully we will have better luck.

Overfished. Best bet is getting out on a boat

I’d have to look at my really old pictures , but I fish a hotel lake and they used to stock it with shad for the bass and I’ve caught a few that were about 12” . Very interesting reeling one in ? .

Tried the SIL neighborhood pond in Lockport today.

Ample amount of 12” Bass

My son caught his first fish ever today at a fishing derby at my fathers 55+ community. Caught 2 baby bluegills with a Paw Patrol rod and reel. My dad held up the first 3” giant my son caught and said “Hey Mike, what’s this?” My response “Musky bait! When we going back to Tomahawk?” My wife’s response “BEER AND FISHING?!?! I’M GOING TOO!!!”

What's everyone using for fish finders? I either need a transducer for a Magna 2 or a whole new set up. Looking at a hook2 without mapping.
