Went fishing with my wife. Using ultra lite 2 lb test and tiny 1/80 oz jigs. Caught all kinds of panfish.. all the sudden I Hook into this. Fucker ran with the line and had to finesse work to get him in.

Re sprayed the Lund and did new decals over winter. The few leaking rivets didn't fix themselves over the winter but this ol girl is float tested and ready to go
As the fishing for Ditch Pickles has been odd this year, I switched to go multi-species with a smaller presentation (white grub / pink head).
At lunch, was getting bit by bluegill and crappie.

Carp are a ton of fun to fish for. You want to get into some nice ones, head to a lock and damn on the Mississippi and fish the low side. It is awesome
Best carp bait I know of is stuff we used to make with cornmeal, marshmallows, and a pack of strawberry jello. They crushed that stuff.
We use to fish at a stocked park district lagoon (Gompers Park) in the city. We would catch carp for days on hot dogs from Aldi.
The Koreans in Albany Park would buy the carp from us.
I never got into heavy duty gear. I think I used 20lb mono normally, but if we went to the Mississippi I would use that braided yellow cord as I have gotten into some monsters out there. Treble hook with or without a spring over the shaft of the hook to keep the bait ball on longer. Pretty much a catch fish pole setup to be honest.

Going to do more panfish fishing, wife wants to catch lots of fish so going with a tiny jig and 1/80 oz jig head with a tiny hook. She should catch almost minnow sized fish. Lol.
Going to bring out the big stuff for myself and see if I can land a big bass or catfish with the FIL at the same ponds. Should be fun!

Picked up a 7ā ultralight rod today and a little satchel type fishing bag for panfish stuff. Took Monday off to go bluegill fish with a coworker at the coal city club.
