A few from the last couple weeks

Man whatever is going on the catfish are biting like crazy the past 2 days. The small ponds, creeks, Fox River spots I’m Pulling catfish of all sizes on my tiny panfish jigs. Went through 2-3 of my small jigs because these fuckers Bend the shit out of the hooks. Started to use a much larger hook. Also caught several 7- 9” bluegill from the small pond by me. Didn’t think a pond soo small I can cast across it Could sustain such a large population of massive gill.

Also disassembled my main all round rod and reel for a much needed cleaning.

Catfish do tear up hooks, leaders and reels (depending on the size)

Hoping we get at least a couple weeks of solid freeze. I’m not even going to bother getting my ice fishing gear ready for the year with the way it’s been.

Fished Cattail Slough today. Pretty damn windy. Did not catch anything on the channel. But I made my way to an area where the water is only 12” to 18” deep and weedy. I know a lot of bass hang out there. gotta fish top water. Just park myself in the tall weeds and fish away.
