Paid a deposit on a cabin for our yearly fishing trip to Lake Vermilion at the end of August.

I'm fishing Lauderdale Lakes next Friday and Saturday. Hoping the ice is thick enough for snowmobiles so we can tow all our gear out there.

Definitely will be. We’re at 6”+ down in the Homer Glen area, which is enough for a sled.

I’m going to get out again this weekend too. We’ll see how motivated I am to go anywhere besides a local lake/pond. Usually fish by myself and tied up with home projects I’m itching to finish up. Hard to convince myself to leave for the whole day or weekend

Been hitting some decent size largemouth in the last week decided to keep a couple small ones to eat, our lake is over run with 10-12” largemouth we’re trying to thin the herd a bit so some of them will turn into fattys, we caught another 18” largemouth today but I didn’t get a picture of it

My neighbor got this crappie the other day biggest one ive ever seen in person

Very nice! I forget what fishing show I was watching when I was younger but they went to Oklahoma, I think, and were catching 3lb crappie. Those fish are a ton of fun to catch. The pond by my dads house had consistent 15” crappie for a few years then went to shit. Delicious too.

Notice how only one burner on my heater is going in my picture above? Its not cold inside a shanty!!

That day had negative wind chills.

I don’t even set up my shanty unless it’s close to 0 or windy, we fished outside for 10 hours yesterday
