Just a random thought and tell me your a fucking idiot if need be.
I'm in the middle of polishing my glass shower doors right now. I was going to coat it with some Nextzett and call it a day. However it just dawned on me that I have some Serum Light left over from my buddies Ram I did. Wouldnt the Serum Light be the better product to use?

I would test a small section but I don't see an issue with using CSL
Matt from OG coats his side and rear automotive glass with CSL and exo

The only thing I would think is that automotive glass is laminate, so there's a very thin layer of "plastic" on either side of it that any auto glass detailing product is designed to be applied and adhered to. Those shower doors are probably just plain glass, but I wouldn't think that's a problem, it just may not have longevity

So with this weather being complete shit, I want to start with a full detail on the GTS. I have a heated garage so I’ll get temp to around 65°-70° before I get started. So, my car is full PPF on the front half. Front clip, full hood, full fenders, 1/2 roof. I can see plenty of rail dust stains in the PPF. I have been doing some research and I will start with a waterless wash from Optimum No Rinse. Has anyone clay bar’d PPF? I want to take the next steps.
1) Clay bar entire car including PPF (may take 2 rounds of clay bar)
2) surface prep entire car
3) DA buff entire car including PPF with swiral/scratch remover. Being really light pressure on PPF.
4) Adams polish with polishing pad on DA.
5) Another round of surface prep wipe down of entire car.
6) finish off with Wolfgang Sealant.

I have never buffed or defiled PPF before but it definitely need some TLC. I want to try this before needing to have car re-PPF’d.

Thoughts?

You might want to add Iron X treatment for the rail dust. I’m not sure if it’s safe for PPF, maybe Gav'sPurpleZ Gav'sPurpleZ could elaborate on that. It will make claying the car easier and it removes most of the rail dust for you. Also I prefer a clay towel vs the bar.

I suggest a medium to light polishing liquid with a polishing or finishing pad for the PPF.

Iron remover would be faster but as others have said, the smell would be bad. You can use a beater towel, spray the iron remover into your finger and spot treat the spots. It may help soften the deposit.

Pretty happy with results, big fan of this Wolfgang sealant, first time using it. Very easy to work with. Wasn’t sure how much to apply so went with “alittle goes a long way” was hard to see it hazing over on white paint. Really like the gloss you get with the finished product, that I don’t think you get with ceramic coating.

When the weather breaks, car goes in for RennTech coil over system, facelift black grill and GTR carbon wing. Looking forward to this spring.

Ended up doing two rounds of clay bar. I did go easy on the PPF, there are some imperfections that will not come out of the PPF. I will be having the front bumper redone as I am having the grill replaced so didn’t pay too much attention.
