My dads buddy just bought a new 28’ Boston whaler to the tune of 450k then dropped 100k on a custom trailer for it and another 100k on an f350 to pull it with, boating is an expensive hobby

what kind of trailer is $100k? I cant imagine even a big dick hydraulic tilt Myco cost much more than $40-50k

not gonna lie, running 70 in one of these past some i/o shit running 64-65mph would be hilarious
I’ve thought about switching the xlt I picked up last year to a 300r since it needs a motor anyway and a transom and stringers, but you can build one hell of a small block for what a 300r cost and the sound is almost a must for an old boat like that

Another year that Skipper Buds refuses to show one of the best selling models in the lineup. I basically wasted my time if not for the fact that my wife has a better idea of what boating is now that we spent a season on the water and was actually able to tell me what she likes and dislikes in a runabout.

Yup, they had a 190 and 210 but no 230.

it was quite some time ago of course, but when i was in this game, teh manufacturers became extremely heavily involved in what was going/showing and the dealers had little impact

models/colorways/engine options, etc.

when i was originally in it, we got to pick what we showed, what colorways, etc.

I can see this. Every year it's the same answer, "we'll have one in Milwaukee". Skipper buds has a2023 in Antioch we're going to see Saturday.

It would be the best time for a hero run to say my boat runs 80 mph or whatever, I know when it’s in the 50’s out in November when I make my last run of the season I pick up 2-3 mph over the summer heat I’d imagine I have upper 70’s in it when it’s 20 out lol
