Everything should be rated at the prop they started doing that in the 90’s but yes 1100’s need full rebuilds around 200 hours, 30-50k would probably cover a full refresh, not sure on the dohc top ends but normally everything from hp500’s up with conventional heads needs a top end job every 200-250 hours due to high spring rates and aggressive cam profiles, 400 verados should last 1500-2000 hours, personally if looking at 1100’s I’d go 1350/1550 since it’s the same motor and weigh

Mercury says 1720 lbs for the 1100 total. I’m going out on a limb but 2 1100’s is going to be faster than 4 400’s.

Fuel economy is an afterthought because if you can afford a couple hundred grand in motors you’ve got the coin to be burning the gas.

i think it's not primarily the cost for fuel economy but rather the weight savings and range advantages.

a boat able to go 150 miles at 90 mph on 50 gallons of fuel is game changing like 1quick 1quick just posted.

twin 1100 boat likely getting .5 mpg if that at that speed... so now we're at 300 gallons of fuel to go as far as the other boat did on 50.

300* 6 = 1800lbs

50* 6 = 300lbs

Friend of ours here picked up a new boat a 42’ regal, it was located on the east coast of Florida in Stuart, they boated back to the west coast using the Okeechobee water way, took them a few days as they made stops along the way and did some sight seeing, they said it was a cool trip and having the boat they did helped a lot as the cabin has air conditioning, good accommodations and just all around comfortable.

This the route they took from this website,
